This kid is Brea+.

This whole portal season, it's felt like we're holding back on the money. And if we are, it's because (at least logically speaking), the staff knows they have an ACE up their sleeve.

This has to be the Ace. This dude is an elite shooter. As a freshman. He is EXACTLY what we need.

If he wants to be at Washington, we've got to make the money enough that he doesn't care about whatever Washington means to him.

Disagree whole heartedly. I’ve lived all over this country to include coastal SC and Coastal NC, Panhandle of Florida, Coastal south Texas and Dallas, and San Diego for 3 years with a little Palm Springs mixed in….traveled throughout Colorado, Utah and Arizona. Kentucky for the first 20 years of my life.

Nothing superior about the western states, or any states…just finding the vibe you like best. Most places you vacation too seem fun until you live there for multiple years and get the downside as well. Plenty of beautiful east coast cities and towns as well.
It’s the openness, the vastness, the shifting landscapes from deserts to evergreens to “painted” towers and arches to crystal clear lakes and streams to wheat fields, the towering mountains in all directions, the sapphire skies, the endless recreation, the endless sunshine, and the way most of it has remained pristine.

Lol ok, maybe if you want to identify as a cat
Spoken like someone truly unexposed. You do realize that outside of So Cal and a few cities like Phoenix and Denver, most of the west is just as conservative or more than Kentucky. I challenge you to go drive from Northern Idaho to Southern Arizona and come back and tell me that Kentucky is just as good. Of course, that would require leaving your little comfort zone bubble of isolation and ignorance so I won’t hold my breath.

Kentucky is recruiting basketball players not new permanent residents. A young man can have a pretty nice lifestyle as a Kentucky basketball player.

They say the same thing about other SEC schools. The west is FAR SUPERIOR but this year's Final Four has the states of Alabama, Texas, North Carolina and Florida still standing. You don't go to a school in the Pacific West to play basketball. That ended with John Wooden.
Agreed. Additionally I pretty much tell every coming of age kid that I’ve known to leave home and go somewhere unfamiliar to learn to grow. Plus, these kids are catered to in every way, from travel to food to girls to entertainment so they don’t have to deal with the day to day drudgery of the average folk. That said, Kentucky’s climate sucks and can suck the life out of everything and everyone. Kentucky isn’t that pretty either compared to places like the Pacific Northwest or Southern California or the Sonoran Desert.

I don't disagree, but if a guy enters and has a "do not contact" tag and already knows where he's going, then there's nothing Pope can do when it comes to that particular recruitment unless that place he wants to go is UK.
He can contact the agent

Washington potentially hiring his cousin is something Kentucky can do absolutely nothing about
Where is there proof that this is happening, and also why would Quincy Pondexter go back to Washington when the new coach did not want him on his new staff last year. He's got a job right now.

The west is way more beautiful but living there would suck because of the policies they have put in place. No thanks.
I appreciate you as much as any poster on here, but you’re thinking too small. People hear west and think L.A and Portland. Don’t forget about Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Arizona even. The west has something for everyone.

Haha, okay. My kids grew up in Florida and now live in Washington state. They absolutely love it out there and would never move back. They love to taunt us with articles on the stuff DeSantis and other leaders are doing. We love visiting them and hiking all over. Next month we're going to hike the Narrows in Zion national park, can't wait.

This is a case where you have to do what's best for the program.

This kid is better than Noah, Chandler and Williams.
Absolutely. In reality, it's best to not consider Noah, Chandler, Perry as part of an 8 man rotation. They're there if u need them for additional depth but serve as solid practice pieces who are trying to develop.

I think he would pair well with Oweh and Lowe. Those are two guys that are looking to drive and Yates is the type of player that will help stretch the floor to create that space/catch the kick out.

Some people have been saying the backcourt is done after Lowe but I think we need one more elite shooter. This guy fits and would wrap up the backcourt nicely.

Probably better to have low expectations on getting this kid since so many on here will have a real or fake meltdown if he goes elsewhere. We already have JJ, Oweh, Chandler, and Williams getting a lot of 2g and sf minutes, I wonder how this kid feels about that when looking at our roster.

Good for you, I would not live in Washington State if they payed me.

Yeah. We are at the end of the roster building.

You either go all in on this guy or Pierre, unless you’re expecting a difference maker at the 5 to enter the portal and you go all in on him

I’m assuming you’ve already earmarked the money for the Robert Morris guy if that’s truly a done deal
I personally think Bidunga is a difference maker at the 5 and no idea why we don’t pursue him.
