Based on numbers you are right but I'm not so sure on severity. You don't have a lot of former soccer players offing themselves because of CTE.
Doctors say they are more severe. They attribute it to things like..
- no helmets
- more contact throughout a players career
- no stigma, nobody knew soccer heads smashing together was bad
That's the thing, the constant soccer headers are like jabs or punches to the skull, then the actual head collisions are very severe. Idk how much a football helmet helps, but I don't think anything in football compares to two guys bashing their bare skulls together.
I knew a soccer player who almost died in high school because of that.
What I'm saying is, we need to get out of ahead of this crap and ban damn soccer. Just focus on LAX, or something. Quidditch. Whatever is next.
*We are yearssss away from competing anyway. We need Pulisic to age at least a few more years, then we need to find a handful of players that are better than Pulisic, and we definitely need to not ban DACA and get these foreigners in soccer camps. We're looking at least 10+ years till we can legit compete, and by then soccer CTE secret will be fully unmasked, so we might as well quit.
*headers banned till 12-13. That's nuts. Tells you a lot. Also, that's not practical at all. Anybody that's gonna play soccer is heading balls at 5 and there's nothing you can do about it. We need those guys heading balls, or we just need to fn quit. I vote quit.
