What amazes me about Pulisic is how much he flourishes in 1v1 situations. I can't remember having anyone with the combination of elite pace, acceleration, and technical skills he has...and the thing is when he gets going, it seems everyone else feeds off of him. There was a 20 min span where our interchange and movement in the final third resembled that of a Pep Guardiola team. And a lot of that was Fabian Johnson making really creative runs into areas that Pulisic opened up by getting to the bi-line.

And just think we still got guys like Brooks, Miazga, Gooch, Yedlin, Johannsen, Dempsey, Zardes out. I still think a couple tweaks could be made that would even make us more dynamic on the ball...I say force feed Acosta into the LB we need so we can move Fabian Johnson to his best position. If Russia 2018 was tomorrow I'd like to see this as our 11:

Howard
Yedlin, Cameron, Brooks, Acosta
Bradley
Pulisic, Fabian Johnson
Dempsey/Kljestan/Nagbe
Altidore, Wood

I think Jorge Villafana's presence at LB would solve some of those issues; but then again, Villafana could still be capped by Mexico despite his advanced age for a first cap.

Acosta is a CDM; he's Jermaine Jones on training wheels.

Pulisic to Altidore...

Hopefully many more of these to come in the future.

Just so much good in this:

1) The recognition of the 1-2 opening up by Kljestan
2) The movement of Pulisic
3) The perfectly timed and weighted pass by Kljestan (much harder than it looks)
4) Pulisics pinpoint pass with his weak foot
5) Altidores movement to finish it off

Well might as well make some history before you get relegated...

Bradley named new Manager at Swansea

"Swansea City have appointed Bob Bradley as manager after sacking Francesco Guidolin on Monday morning.

Bradley becomes the first American to manage in the Premier League after the Welsh club snubbed Ryan Giggs, who interviewed for the post alongside former Derby boss Paul Clement and ex Villarreal manager Marcelino.

Bradley emerged from the quartet as the prime choice of the club’s American owners, Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien, and has left Le Havre to sign a two-and-a-half year deal at the Liberty Stadium."

First American to be in charge of team in England's top league.

- Also USA has some friendlies coming up. Looks like a lot of young guys are going to get the chance to play.

I cant wait to see if Gooch gets some time and how he does.

I saw where FC Cincy lost their playoff game last night but had 31,000 there.

Louisville City won, but will likely have to beat NYC Red Bulls, who they lost to twice, to get the the championship game.

I was just talking to a buddy of mine who works with LCFC and jjst found out last year they lost about a million dollars on the deals with the stadium they are using and concessions and they are going to lose the same this year. Losing 2 million in 2 years for a USL team is huge! And I saw $5 playoff tickets....that's way too cheap. I don't know what businesses model they have but that's crazy. They need a new soccer specific stadium bad. Amd I mean they are really good too.

So, me and a buddy were talking about a couple of things the other day and I'd figure Id post the questions on here just to see what you all think...

1st: Whats the greatest national team you have ever seen play? For me, its 2002 Brazil. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Cafu, Edilson, Kaka....jeeeezzzeeee

2nd: Who is the best player in your lifetime you have seen play (not necessarily in person)? For me, I go Ronaldo. And I think a very underrated player all time is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ibra was underrated only in British media because didn't play in England, he's always been top 5 striker and is now in waning stage of career. He also chose to play for comparatively weak Sweden so he could be "the man" instead of for Croatia.

Best player I ever saw in person was Valderrama. Team probably 80s Argentina.

International breaks....

Anything to take away from the game yesterday? It didn't seem like they were really into it. Maybe because it was a friendly, maybe because they didn't want to get hurt playing in those conditions.

Africa has some really solid teams.

Cuba needs a new pitch....my yard is in better condition than what we played on

U-17 USWNT eliminated from U-17 world cup by Japan 3-2 in group stage. Lost to Ghana as well. Saw some poor goal keeping from the USA. They were one of the favorites and did not make it out of group. Back to the drawing board.

If only you could've been there to see the Man U-Liverpool game...

Yeah, probably would have been dangerous to be there for that match. It was against Leicester City. I do like how they treat/seat opposing fans. It's actually very smart.

One of the best things besides getting a tour of Old Trafford, sitting in the suites and meeting the legends, had to be talking to fans and hearing stories about the crazy days of hooliganism and rivalries.

The stuff about Millwall is insane.

Anyone see what JK said in his presser pre-New Zealand? I agree totally with him. Essentially said USMNT needs to find ways to play CONMEBOL teams more frequently. Said if we needed to give up the Gold Cup so we could play in an every 2-year Copa America we need to do it. I agree, the only way the US breaks into the top 15 ish range in the world is by consistently playing elite competition. Playing the likes of Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador much more frequently. I saw a guy propose this and I would love it:

New Cycle (4yr):

2018 - World Cup

2019 - Gold Cup/Copa America (Results used to Qualify for new Americas Cup)

2020 - America's Cup (Top 8 of Conmebol, Top 6 of Concacaf- Two Highest from each Federation get Confed Cup spot)

2021- Confederations Cup

2022- World Cup

Have most WCQ games in 2020/2021

Is the game on the 10th or 11th? Your posts say 11th, but on multiple schedules online I am seeing Nov 10th. I just hope that US/Mex isn't on the same day as Brazil/Argentina

So a few of my buddies and I were discussing this year who we think had the best league in the world. Many of us naturally deferred to the Premiere League but all admitted, we really didn't see enough of all teams in the Spanish league to make an accurate judgment. So the first 9 weeks we have all consistently watched to see what La Liga was all about. I wanted to ask some of you this just to get your opinion... After observing the league on a wider scale we all surprisingly agreed, the Spanish league is by far the best league in the world, NOT the PL.

Sure FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are the crème... but Sevilla, Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao, Celta Vigo, Las Palmas, Real Sociedad are all quality teams. The top 10 of La Liga IMO can easily compete with the top 10 of the Premiere League. And the elite top 3-4 in La Liga are way better than anything in the Premiere League.

The PL is the most visible and lucrative. I do think the PL is more physical but I think that's a compensation thing because La Liga is waaayyyyyy more technical. I don't understand why La Liga doesn't get a better network than BeIn Sports for its games. I didn't even know that channel existed. I wonder why they don't approach ESPN or something. PL had NBC. Bundesliga has Fox. ESPN IMO after the world cup in 2018 will get involved with La Liga
