Why didnt Mullen take a shot at the corner of the EZ with Morrow ( instead of Clark)? For a guy that almost lost his RS last year.......gotta ask why.

Also, when Patterson was seemingly pinned around his own 10ish on the reverse, where n the hell was Autry running? He & Cherrington (sp) looked like they were in a U6 game chasing a soccer ball that got kicked up by an ant hill (until Patterson turned it into a 40 yd gain). Autry shoulda knocked Patterson's dick into an Indian mound.

I have yet to see the Morrow potential come to fruition. Clark can make that grab if he gets some a little separation and gets his hands on it. I haven't seen anything from Morrow that would leave me to believe he could go up and grab it over a defender.

I guess my point is that I think it is more of a confidence in Clark thing. I want us to run that play with Morrow in a game that is more easily handled first. This weekend would be perfect.

No, but do you blame them for not putting the game into his hands versus Clark? I'm not saying Morrow is bad or anything like that. Just that I don't expect him to be our savior receiver this year based on how he has played so far. Like I said, its more about our confidence in Clark versus him as a redshirt freshman.

What's wrong with Clark? He's got a lot of experience and he's pretty reliable. It's just that Bump, Smith, and Green have been the primary targets so far this year. Clark has made his share of plays for us over his career.

I expect all that to change now that Malcom Johnson is back. He has the size and ability to go over a defender and make that catch

Yeah, by damn. And why didn't Mullen call a play that was sure to score on the play before AND the play after. You gotta question is playcalling on those two also

On the Patterson reverse, watch Jamerson Love. He gets caught up in the middle chasing Patterson, then he just gives up. NOT relentless effort. Had he kept hustling, he couldve gotten himself back in position to make a play. Thankfully Slay didn't give up on the play.

Slay had to make up for the number of times he got burned on Saturday. In Slay's defense he had one of the toughest assignments all of Saturday night

I don't think

anyone is suggesting he should be playing to the level of the top WRs in the nation, at this point. However, expecting more than two catches for 24 yards is not acting to over the top. You cannot argue, with all of the hype from the coaches over the past spring/summer, that he has not produced at any level so far.

How many times could Slay have been burned if UT had 150 yds passing?

I though Patterson only had like two catches. And while slay didn't play the catch in the end zone well, even if his coverage had been perfect, it wouldn't have stopped that catch unless it just distracted Patterson.

What the hell are you talking about? Slay did not get burned Saturday. UT's two NFL WRs combined for 4 catches for about 60 something yards. If you are referring to the only TD pass that either of CBs gave up i.e. the Patterson TD, Bray threw that ball about as well as it could be thrown. Slay may have been a step late, but suggesting he got "burned" on Saturday is a little silly.

Bray had several missed opportunities to target Patterson, I can only find one incomplete pass to Patterson where Slay was covering him. And on that play Bray was hurried by Josh Boyd, which Bray is known to make horrible passes under pressure. Watch plays like the interception before halftime, Patterson was well out in front of Slay, thankfully we benefited from an under thrown pass. He might not have had many catches, but there were a number of times where I watched Patterson leave Slay out in the cold.

Overall the statistics show that we had a great game defensively against the pass, and we did have a great game. I also think it is understood across most people at the game, that Tennessee did not take advantage of the weapon that Patterson can be in a big game like that.

The INT had safety help coming over the top and I thought the ball was overthrown if anything.

Clark is awesome.... my only point about morrow was using his height to our advantage (like USC did to us with Jeffires). Doesn't seem like we have any 1 off type plays for Morrow where he only has to focus on the assignment for that play. i think the coaching staff has been fairly innovative with Prescott....maybe morrow just isn't ready.

Very poor discipline by our defense on the Patterson reverse. If you watched we had like 2 or 3 guys on the backside ALL head upfield expecting Patterson to run up the field vertically leaving NO backside containment. That allowed Patterson the opportunity to run horizontally back to the other side of the field with no resistance and plenty of blocking. We were very fortunate Slay was able to get an angle on Patterson or that would have been a 85 yard TD run.
