He might be a Sr before UT turns things around. On the other hand, State MIGHT make 4 bowl games in a row....... which would be poetic justice.

so I doubt they really care about the on field product. He was another case that, if not pressured by his family, would have been at MSU.

Was Neal that big of a recruit? Tennessee must be taking care of a lot of families because they are stocked with recruits rated just as high as him.

but was not nearly thought of that highly when we originally got his commitment. And because Dooley got such a late start in recruiting TN was definitely looking for good prospects that they could flip from their commitment by whatever means. Neal definitely had offers from several of the upper tier SEC schools.

Not to say his palms werent greased but his family wanted him to go to UT because of playing time. He would have definitely redshirted here but instead gets to play as a true freshman at a school rich in football tradition. Yes, UT is rebuilding but we've been rebuilding for the last 10 years and that hasnt stopped reccruits from coming to State. I wish we could have gotten him but he made the most logical decision if you ask me. </p>

He was a four star recruit with an offer from Florida State. He received is 4th star after committing to State.

with Dixon graduating from MSU I'm sure the family was all in a tizzy that he wouldn't get the chance to play any at MSU. Give me a break. In fact when he signed with TN, Bryce Brown was still there as a freshman ahead of him. Regardless of what was or was not done on the side playing time was NOT the reason he switched.

If it makes you feel any better about losing Neal, I saw Eric Gordon (Jamont's brother) have 2 critical fumbles.
