Honestly i thought you were better than that.

I do way more for autism than you have ever thought of. I am responsible for a 50 year old autistic adult. I go to many autistic functions with him and see the full spectrum of autism. I am involved in the autism community in Charleston. The only argument i have made on here is that RFK is right to be looking where he is looking.

And yes, many children cannot get a date and many children can't write a poem. You want your feelings to get in the way of science. Typical democrat.

So you can kindly go **** yourself right back. You are a piece of ****. Two can play that game.

So autism spectrum is only people who can't get a date or pay taxes?

The vast majority of people today who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder are not what you or RFK Jr described. Most are functioning , albeit with different levels, in society, most have jobs and date. There is literally a show on Netflix about people with Autism Spectrum disorders dating. One is a Man who works in downtown Clemson.

I appreciate that you take care of a.man with autism, there are certainly challenges with that. That isn't the typical person and may be where your misunderstanding of the diagnosis increase is coming from.

@yoshi121374 I've wanted to ask you- It seemed that RFK Jr. in his sham of a press conference essentially said ALL autistic people are of the nonverbal/low functioning variety. However, he used the stats about the number of people on the spectrum that indicate the (correct) widening of the spectrum.

Anyone who knows anything about the research over the past few decades about Austism/autism spectrum and diagnosing it (which we've gotten way better at) knows its actually a SPECTRUM and that there are incredibly high-functioning Autistic people in every area of life and work and sports.

He played both sides of the coin right to make it look WAY worse. As if EVERYONE (fairly large number of people) on the spectrum today is nonverbal/low functioning. Correct?

There are many autistic kids who can't write a poem and are so afflicted they can't get a date on their own. They simply don't have the social skills. You know this if your wife really does have half the credentials you say she does.

While the vast majority may be what you say, that still leaves a large population that fit the criteria of not being able to date and not being able to communicate well. It's just a factual observation and ******** like @UrHuckleberry think you are doing them a service by NOT acknowledging that.

No one ever said all people with autism don't date. But you can't deny there is a subset of that SPECTRUM that can't date. That is just a reality.

I never tried to put anyone down. I never demeaned anyone with autism. In fact, it's the opposite. I'm here advocating for them.

What a sack of **** @UrHuckleberry is. Now go run off like the little ***** you are.

For the record @UrHuckleberry i also work with adaptive sports. Clemson will be hosting a wheel chair basketball tournament this fall and you can come see me there if you want.

Nothing is said should offend anyone except morons like huckleberry. He hasn't shown much ability to put together a good argument anyway and it's all coming together now. He is just a low iq moron.

Please post this press conference where he said ALL people are non verbal / low functioning.

Absolutely. The rise in autism Spectrum disorders is due mostly to a change in what is diagnosed as an Autism Spectrum Disorder. It's long, but the article below really explains it. I know many, many people who have diagnosed Autism Spectrum disorders. Some are very low functioning, nonverbal, and need constant care like RFK claimed. The vast majority have jobs, function fine in society, and just have some sensory quirks. It's a Spectrum, that's literally what Spectrum means.

You are going way to far and being a monumental ******* yourself right now, which, truth be told is typical for you when you feel challenged.

RFK Jr, lumped every single person with autism as someone non verbal who can't get a job or date. He never backtracked and claimed he was only talking about severe. It was extraordinarily insulting to anyone with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Again, you work with some people with disabilities, that's awesome, doesn't mean you aren't wrong about autism and RFK.

I agree it's a spectrum

That is why i don't understand why I am catching heat for acknowledging that some can't socialize and write. It's just a fact and that is a part of the spectrum.

Because that not what RFK is claiming or saying and you support him. He said that, and instead of saying, yeah, that's not really true, you support him.

Thats why it's frustrating to discuss stuff with you, you can be levelheaded and open to discourse on one day, then the next ******* belligerent insulting slogan @fatpiggy is back.

I'm honestly wondering is there are two people in that head of yours. Perhaps the other is Ole Fastball?

I'm open to seeing any quotes that I made that aren't in line with that.

I certainly can get annoyed and get more aggressive so it's possible, but I truly try to have real open dialog and discussion.
Yea I think that’s my point. Any counter to your position is “demonizing”. People can have opposing viewpoints, you don’t have a monopoly on the “right” position. Now, are you claiming you can unequivocally tell me there’s a 0% chance that these vaccines have caused an uptick in autism?

No I don't say Zero chance, I say it's not likely and has never shown any connection in any study. Correlation doesn't equal causation.

The reason vaccines are brought us is due to the timing of childhood vaccines and the correlation with that same age being when most children start hitting developmental milestones. Ie. You don't notice that a 2 year old doesn't have a large vocabulary, because 2 years olds don't have large vocabularies. You do start to notice 3 years olds since they are becoming more social and are around more same age peers.

I get annoyed at this constant attempt to find some conspiracy, when the facts are really easy to understand. It just gets exhausting to keep rehashing the same, old crap that isn't true. Do you realize that the foremost expert who brought the vaccine correlation to the forefront was the esteemed expert Jenny McCartney?

Please read the article I posted earlier.

And if I've been an *** to you, it's probably because I felt that vibe towards me. I apologize if I was out of line. You at least seem open to real debate and discussion, I welcome that.

Exactly how and why would you think that my wife's credentials don't make her qualified? Because she's not an idiot who believes that vaccines cause autism?

Explain how RFK Jr, is more qualified to discuss autism than my wife?

Also, the demonizing comments were about discussions around LGBTQ rights. There are some posters here, not including you in that, who are brutal with how they portray that community and I absolutely push back against that.

We have posters who constantly post "articles" that are only about Gay or Trans people who were pedofiles. He never posts about other pedophiles, only gay or trans, which are not even close to the worst offenders.

I push back against the characterization of an entire community of people who are just trying to live their lives.

Dumbass. My wife literally screens children for disorders. That's her job.

So Doctors can't tell you what most likely caused your disease?

So my Dentist has no idea why I got cavities?

My Wife has over 20+ years working with Children all across the Spectrum. She has been on the ground during multiple changes in the DSM and she has a deep understanding of the changes in diagnosis.
