If nothing else, he's our best talker on defense, which is something we desperately need. I've even seen him on PJ and Shai about it from the bench this year.

I don't know if it was tactical or if Cal was just playing coy, but I said a few weeks (when many were projecting Vanderbilt never plays a game at uk) that he was much closer to being physically ready than suggested.

And when he looks 100 times worse at rotating on defense than PJ And gives up 16 pts by being so far behind......... this board will consider him a disaster ....

Not by fault of Vando who is just starting to practice but the fault of the goobers that unfairly deemed him the savior

Cal has been sandbagging, just waiting for the right time to announce. I think he knew UK fans needed a boost!

Have to be careful getting feet wet because of the cast on one and the gears and springs in the other one.
Surely the appendage would be made of stainless steel? UK can afford the best.....UK wouldn't use pot metal on something as important as a "bionic leg"!

Hopefully the kid plays. It's getting really old seeing all the negative threads about him. Hoping that he plays and does well, so we can start seeing positive threads about him. Problem is I don't this kid will ever be able to satisfy some of our poster's even if he averages 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. At least give him a chance to get back into the flow before beating him down.

You know that him playing isn't going to keep the beast away......He won't walk right, doesn't want to win, bad attitude, doesn't smile and a host of other things we see on a regular basis......They won't be able to just let the kid play and be happy with it.........

Need him to board and bang
What he will bring to the team is some of that. He will lead and bring energy like Mkg he takes defense personal. What he will be devastating at is transition and JV at the freethrow line against the zone will be devastating

You will also see him at the top of hi/low sets.

He won't be the savior, but he hasn't been on another planet he has been with the team since June I'm sure being at practice he has picked up a few things. The kid had like a 4.5 gpa.

Just about everyone here didn't think he would play this year. Let's just all be happy he decided to suit up and give it a go.
"He decided"? As if he's gonna give it a go on a whim? Geez, man. Can you be more negative/obvious? The guy had a foot injury. They can be very difficult to recover from, and can take time. Try to be less negative, dude. Or, just change your name to "Calsabomb" so your real intentions are communicated.

Cal said it wasn't his call so yes he "decided" to play. He wasn't forced by anybody.

We need someone who will bring some physicality to the game, especially when we play West Virginia. Why am I thinking our physical play will be fouls and W Va's wont

No dude. Don't make clueless assumptions.
Exactly! You made the assumption-clueless- that JV has been ok and good to go for awhile, and only now "decided" to honor us with his presence and skills on the court. Surely his decision had NOTHING to do with the fact that now, after giving it time to heal properly, he feels his foot is strong enough to play on. Give it up, dude. Your agenda is clearly apparent.

People are putting to many expectations on this kid. He has missed half a season of experience and is probably not in great cardio shape from his injury. Even if he does play there will a huge curve he is behind. I hope he plays and plays great, but let's be a little realistic.
