Vandy's solid...very solid. They simply can't play with so few mistakes the rest of the way, though, and their offense can't make up for any major gaffes the team will ultimately have against somebody. It might as well be us. Our moribund offense has had at least a tiny bit of life after LSU. VU's offense is still nothing to write home about no matter what their record is.
The kicker?...the embarassingly sad kicker to this? They're good and highly ranked and bound to have a "down" emotional game against us, an SEC bottom feeder. God, that makes me want to puke typing it but the truth is the truth. And after we win?...I won't give a damn that it was b/c Vandy couldn't get up for us and committed more turnovers due to lackadaisical play.

We are 50/50 at winning.
Run AD/CD until "they're legs fall off" then we got a shot.
What concerns me,now, is the D-side. Locke is right, we can't cover anything on the inside part of the field w/the corners.

#44 for Auburn had 21 rushes for 86 yards in the first half and then didn't even get a single carry in the 3rd quarter and only 6 carries for 20 yards in the 4th. And most of those 6 were east-west runs out of the spread. I can only recall 2 carries in the 2nd half he had out of the offensive set they ran for the first 20 minutes of the game. He got 10 and 5 yards on those 2 carries.
Then when Auburn got the ball at their own 1 with 2 minutes left and had to pass, they called the worst possible pass for their noodle-arm QB to try to complete. A 30-yard out pattern. He had to throw that ball 45 yards to get it where it was going. What an easy pick for the DB. Tubberville and Franklin have done by far the worst job coaching an offense of anybody in the SEC this year, and it's not like teams like MSU and UT haven't tried to take that honor.

Just don't throw the ball or fumble it... In fact you should probably try and goad them into cheap penalties, kick three field goals and win 9-7.
is that Vandy is Vandy (how's that for a cliche?). Can they lose 7 in a row? I doubt it, but they've had losing seasons with teams that probably had as much talent as this one.
the line being a toss-up is perfect...Vandy is playing good football, but not great...we had an off week, plus have always been a jekyll and hyde team under Crooms...some keys to the game:
1. Vandy's new QB- how much better does their offense perform under him?
2. Can state run the football with success?
3. Turnovers- Vandy forces a bunch
4. How much we score in the 1st half- Vandy has only given up 10 points in the 2nd half all season
I am betting Vandy forces a couple of costly turnovers and beats us 20-16

I'm so hoping we win, gatorade Croom, tear the goalposts down and SI gets a pic of Croom running wet down the sideline for next week's cover.
I f we win, Sly will act like we just won the frikkin SEC championship. He'll be talking about if we can't see the improvement in this team knocking off the 13th ranked team in the country & ****, then I'll be puking my guts out even more. I hope we win but I just hate to hear his dumb ***.
i agree, i hope we win i guess but if we do win then croom'll act like we won the SEC west and'll act like he should get another contract extension.
his own self . It serves him right with his hard-headedness trying to run the WCO with his Jr. college caliber QB's. Byrne was as much dumbass for giving SLY & McCorvey a contract extention & a raise. Now he's trying like hell how to figure out how to get his *** out of the first crack he's been in since he was named AD.
this is the year of moral victories for us. Auburn 3-2 and LSU 34-24 and Vandy will be somewhere in between because we will "execute better" BUT still lose.
Like I said last week, I cannot and will not pick us to win a game over a 1A opponent until we have done so this year.
