Well, I have never been a really big Vandy fan but ever since that Idiot Stallings has been there, they have even passed KY on my 'don't like list.'
First, some facts -
- Yes, their horrendous gym is 'tough' to win at BUT since Stans has been the HC, State has won 3 and lost 4 there which is not bad for an 'away' record.
- What all these BB writers fail to mention is ... 'in the past 14 years, Vandy has ONLY 1 win in 7 games at the Hump.'
Second, some emotion -
- Vandy fans have to be the MOST 'know it all' fans when in actuality, they are truly BB illiterate; plus they are being led by the biggest oaf in college BB. Okay, I didn't attend Vanderbilt and you went/go to Vandy. You have this impression that you are the smartest person in the universe. I get it. But when you can't seem to have a single conversation without bringing up where that you go/ went to school, then you have a serious problem.
- And, I'm still 'hot' about Stallings making 'outrageous' claims and NOT getting slammed by the SEC when the truth comes out.
If it was Stans that had told a newspaper that "one of the Vandy players tried to injure one of his players and the Vandy coaches told him to do it" ... there would have been 'hell to pay.' But, all Stallings does is call Stans and apologize. These apologies get printed in the CL and Tupelo paper but writers at the Tennessean and other papers never bother to print the story or if they do, they are bury it.
Okay, you're at the SECT ... you had a player that was already not 100% ... You lost to a team that you really should have beaten. Suck it up say ... 'they played better than us & we got beat." DON"T use this as an EXCUSE ...
Well Stallings didn't pull any punches as he accused Mississippi State of dirty play during their SEC tournament game. Stallings also said Mississippi State attempted to further injure Jenkins in Friday's SEC Tournament quarterfinal in Atlanta. "We actually had an incident in the tournament of a player intentionally stepping on it, and being told to by his coach," Stallings said. "I thought that was very interesting that his coach was telling him, 'Step on his foot! Step on his foot!' "If this is true, you can bet that the SEC will be talking to Mississippi State in the future.
and now, I feel much better.
