Grimsley was just added... that was the last team added to their schedule. Consider the fact that William Fleming played in the region finals in 5C plus Highland Springs... tough schedule. One of their tougher schedules in recent memory in my book.

Not a fan of out of state games as there are plenty of in state schools to play. With that being said though, Varina should be battle tested enough with this schedule to make it to the Class 4 Title Game to play Phoebus once again.

I believe Varina had a tough time finding a 10th game. If they could have found an in-state foe I'm sure they would have.

Shoutout to Varina’s AD, Folsom for making that Grimsley game happen. Folsom was under Harry Lee as Assistant AD at Highland Springs for a while so he knows all about playing anyone, anywhere. A lot of expectations on 7053 Messer Road, they are definitely set up for success.

Out of state is a good way to see how kids stack up. Could also open up some recruiting doors
