GB's real reason for leaving so quickly: Vroom Maroon is being put into place and he's knows it's gonna tank. gotta get out while you're a hot commodity and other schools don't think you're going to bring in some brand new stoopid slogan that no one asked for.
GB hired his friends for this, and this is the result. No one on campus outside of GB and the people who are under him liked it.
It may not be great but a lot depends on how it is used. For me, it beats the **** out of black uniforms and 120 decibles of bad hip hop. Hopefully, it won't reach the embarrassment level of "Mississippi State of Mind." But that red face was caused by the vaucuousness of the commercials used with it, not by the slogan itself.
But I ain't about to praise a guy who rode our shoulders to career advancement and left us in disarray after less than two years in our athletic department's biggest job. I just don't think it's right. He has the right to do it, but that doesn't make it right. That only makes it legal. It's legal to sue your mama and disown your children too.

That is one problem with Varoom Maroon.......we are left with a marketing campaign with no orginality and personality.....We should have stayed with True Maroon and turned it into something because it has legs and can evolve marketing wise.....It is unique, believeable and real......But now the guy who created Varoombolts and leave us with this thing.....As I posted elsewhere I hope if it ever plays on the big screen the fans sit on their hands in silencestunned in disbelief .....then....maybe then it wll go away......And one last shot at our previous AD......You don't make the major changes you made in two years.......yes mostly good......and then abandon those you left to execute your plans......bad management.....I suppose we did not have buy-out agreement with him.....might should consider that with the next one...
Are you sure it was Vroom Maroon? I know someone that works with this and has been making the commercials (like the one you see for SBW) and says that vroom maroon was scratched for "The New Maroon" awhile back. (and the commercial I've seen says welcome to the NEW maroon)
