Very easy question. What would you do?

I don't know guns well enough to answer from a picture. But what I think we gathered from the discussion yesterday, my understanding what exactly is a "semi" was misplaced. There are two parts to my thinking, outlawing certain type of weapons and not allowing ordinary citizens to own a cartel. If one wants to own more weapons than a certain amount (and I don't know what that should be), then they would not be protected under the Constitution as I want to amend the 2nd Amendment for citizens. Instead, they would have to be regulated under federal law based on a classification of a dealer or whatever.

Again, I'm not smart enough or qualified to rewrite the Constitution and that isn't my intent in this conversation. I am just putting forth commentary of we need less guns in the general public and until the 2nd Amend is redone, that dream is not possible. Criticize as you wish.
I was hoping a picture might clarify your thought - both are semi-auto. One might look a little more "assault like" than the other.

If anything, I think I'd get rid of the hand gun before the "assault like" weapon. The "assault like" weapon is harder to conceal. I'm not sure how much it being harder to conceal would help, but it might.

I'm not endorsing the outlawing of any specific type of weapon but if you "held a gun to my head" (pardon me) and made me choose one of them, I think I'd rather outlaw the one that's easier to conceal.

Interesting thought - I wonder how much concealment plays in the homicide rate? I'm sure a good many are concealed to a point.

That's probably the only time I've heard that argument. It's an interesting thought as well. We worry about the long gun, which everyone would see, but ignore the small gun that no one would see.

Like I said, it is pipedream to think some posters could ever be civilized. But I will make a commitment starting today to be a gentleman and only respond addressing points of a conversation when I do post. The usual suspects can take as many potshots as they want towards me.
If you do that, I will ask those who do to reciprocate. If that makes a difference. At 75, I get goaded into **** that I probably did when I was 13. Of course I did not have the advantage of concealment by a false name.

If everybody acts civilized, will the board dry up, or will it become meaningful?

In the past when the insults have died down a bit, people have complained the place is boring. Why do you think so many miss Bud and for two years that are still obsessing over his absence. Personally, I don't care either way on insults or not.
