Jersey, baby!!! Grit, diversity, chop.

"He survived a collapsed lung while at South Brunswick High School, walked on at Rutgers because his two older siblings went there – and he likes the business school – and takes pride in representing New Jersey’s huge Indian community.

There are no statistics on how many Indian-American players are starting across college football this season, but it’s likely the number is small."

"“I actually didn’t like the hit too much, thought it was a little too low,” he said. “We talk about being violent with the ball, so I just hit it as hard as I could.”

That ranks tied for the seventh-longest field goal in program history and is the longest since Bridgewater-Raritan High School grad Justin Davidovicz knocked a 52-yarder through in 2018 (the record of 55 yards, by John Benestad, has stood since 1990)."

I feel like I’m rooting for him even more than for other players for diversity and breaking stereotypes, but I do not like the copycat #1 gesture (from The Judge) Patel shows in the big screen clips. If he prides himself on his differences, which is great, then don’t copy someone else’s iconic gesture.

Patel had a really good game. Much improvement and more relaxed than last week.
The guy snapping to the holder needs some work or be replaced. Made life hard on the holder who did a great job getting it down for Patel.

Good story . It’s very interesting with the large Indian population in New Jersey, he’s the first rutgers player that’s Indian. That can’t be right???

I'm hoping that he can bring lots of Indian fans to RU games and support the program. Huge numbers of folks very close to SHI.

This guy should have the most NIL deals on the team given the Indian-American population and affluence in NJ. He should have very business on Oak Tree Rd paying him. Not making fun - seriously this kid should cash in and I hope he does!

Jai is Rutgers through and through. He loves Schiano but he had to earn his spot and he's definitely put in the work to do it. If you want to support him, go buy his shirt in the NIL store.
