...on Lee's decision not to pitch the ball on 4th down. It was the perfect play call. There are 10 plays out there that would've won the game if we had made them, and Mullen's call on 3rd down to play action was no bigger deal than the punt return, or the botched field goal. But the game was lost on that 4th down. Again, if you have not watched it yet on tv, Dixon could've walked on his hands in the end zone. It was impossible to tell at the game what happened. Dixon was totally open, and Ducre had nobody to block. Horrible, horrible decision. I thought Lee played hard and was gutsy today, but that decision cost us the game.
Those of you on Mullen...I can't understand it. All any of us wanted was a chance to win in the 4th quarter. We have not had that in 10 years with them. We overcame 4 turnovers to have that chance and Mullen put the players in position to win the game. We have a great coach. The improvement is unbelievable. And Torbush has redeemed himself. We are gonna give up the deep ball, but teams are not gonna run on us. And that's the best we can do this year.
We have a chance to win any game left on our schedule. And that's what you take away from this one.
