I assume somebody is doing the math on the Class 6 Board, but when is the VHSL going to start putting their official calculations out?

VHSL Regions later today, awaiting a revision from league office due to incorrect reported score affecting both #5B and #3B standings.

The power point system weights a teams wins for opponents that have a better record. If HS opponents stink, it's hard to get bonus points. The fact that Hermitage sucks this year is definitely hurting HS in these rankings compared to previous years.

If L. C. Bird loses to Manchester this week, it may not be that bad because the Lancers will likely go 10-0 & provide a lot of bonus points. It's an interesting concept because HS has no control over what's happened to Hermitage.

There are rumors down here that HS IS planning to play a big time Out Of District opponent in the 757 in the future. But, I won't expand on it since it's something I overheard in the stands & at this point it's just hear say.

So, LC Bird's impressive 14-12 thrashing of Meadowbrook or was it that stout defenses 7-6 dog fight verse Huguenot that has them #1?!
It's the point system. At this point, it's just good fun to look at... It only means something at the end of the season.

....But HSHS's next opponent is Atlee which is currently 5-1. Then we close with Varina which is now 6-0 and could be either 9-0 or 8-1 when we meet in week #10. Varina and Henrico play this week. Varina still faces Atlee and HSHS. Bird will have their 1st loss this Friday, they play Manchester. Bird plays Monacan next week, that is an even draw!
I do think that HS will take over the #1 Seed based on playing Woodside, Henrico, Atlee and Varina. Which all 4 of them could end up 8-2 or 9-1 providing we beat Varina and Atlee. I think Atlee will finish 7-3 though. We will have played 4 teams with 7-3 or better.
I'm pretty sure HS will drop Hermitage next year on their schedule, who they pick up, I don't know for sure! I've heard O Smith declined the offer. So, we will see! IMO Bird or Manchester would be good. Who knows, maybe Ocean Lakes?

It makes sense on paper but everyone in the 804 maybe the Commonwealth know who's head and shoulders superior. I was telling someone at a recent game, I thought HS should drop Herm and Hanover and play an additional 6a school from the tidewater area and a 5a team from NOVA.

And what about a Tournament of Champions... i.e. 6a v 5a champ and so forth...

I'm think HS will drop Hermitage and Riverbend next year. I don't know about Hanover or Lee Davis. They will both the class 4 next year, but both are District schools.
