There is no debating that Wimsatt has looked much better against weak teams this year compared to last year. That right there is the metric for improvement. His stats from last year’s Wagner game where he got a chunk of PT leave no doubt. This much isn’t debatable.

Will the improvements translate though when Wimsatt has less time to make decisions? That’s the TBD that we’ll have more clarity on after the game today.

Unfair to compare GW to "next Level" QB's. Kid is 20 - what we saw was very promising. The one really bad throw was the one behind Dremel when backed up to our goal line. And the one that sailed high.
And as others pointed out- what I loved is that most of his misses where smart. And if not for the non PI on the back shoulder throw to Washington in the endzone, I think Washington would have been able to turn back for that one and had a good chance of a catch.

We also saw at least 5+ throws that we have not seen a QB make here in years. The way he led Benjamin on those two long passes were things of beauty.

BTW- missed in all this- Got to give the kid Dremel props as well. Saw so many on here making statements he is not a D1 WR...Kid has really come on this year

Huge improvement for sure. Next level has to be check downs. I might have missed one or two maybe, but I saw him lock onto the primary receiver only every pass. The kid has unlimited talent so he has to trust his line and see other options that might have more YAC available. He's the best RU has had since Teel, no doubt.

What I also noticed with the video- which is such great production. Is the large gaps of time between throws during the 2nd and 3rd Qtrs...

He is playing at age 19 because he was recruited to help elevate the program. He didn't back into this job and if anyone says game management was their highest hope for him in year three, they aren't being very honest. Yes, some things worked against him but that is history. He won the starting job this year, is injury free, has great coaches and decent talent around him and should be judged like a big ten starter and the highest rated qb recruit in program history.
This isn't "year 3". He was brought along basically halfway through his senior year of high school. It's disingenuous to say it's his 3rd year. Kid is 19.

actually, those same sources praised his potential endlessly last season. No, I don't share their enthusiasm but I will definitely be excited to be wrong. Their being paid doesn't make them objective, accurate or an authority on the issue. that is the part I found humorous. the same authorities get scouting wrong all the time, especially at the position in question.

Time will tell. Go Rutgers!

I’m not blaming him or making excuses for him. Or saying where he should or shouldn’t be. I’m just saying there’s a clear gap between his performance and the top quarterbacks in our league and in college generally.

drones is also a redshirt sophomore playing in a new system and behind a worse offensive line againstva better defense. He was clearly the better qb in that match-up.
