Heard a rumor that a rebel dressed in maroon might go on a racist tirade at a basketball game to try and make us look bad. This could easily be BS. Not sure if I should believe it. Sounds far fetched - but so are the beliefs of some rebels these days.

So watch out for it.


On a similar note back in the Richard Williams era, some angry State fans threw ice on the floor at The Hump during a game against Alabama. After a waring from the referees, some Bama fans (whom and at least hundreds of other fans saw) threw A LOT of ice on the floor later in the game and all hell broke loose. Technical fouls against our team and Williams on the microphone scolding students.

Let's don't end up in a roadside ditch. If this rumor comes true, remember you heard it here first. And for heavens sake if you are near the action, pull the guy back and don't let it get started.

Honestly, our fan bases are the same. Sure, we like different teams, but we're the same. The only difference is we pretend we aren't like the other schools stereotypes. If they pulled that stunt off around the wrong people, they'd run the risk of getting their teeth kicked in especially if word got out that they are actually wolves in sheep's clothing. I'm not going to pretend that racists don't attend State. I've seen and heard of a few people I had been around (or at the least seen) at times, even though I haven't been racially confronted myself as long as I've been here. But the big difference (for me at least) is a lot of the history behind Ole Miss. I have friends and spoken to a few people who have either attended or affiliate themselves with Ole Miss, so I do know that not everyone there are bigots. However, when you see the lengths that they go in order to preserve said history that many others view as havingderogatorymeanings behind them it really makes you wonder about a lot of the people that choose to hold on to the past.
