Visiting MSU for the first time in over a decade for the TN game. Looking for info on tailgating - is there a specific location fans of the visiting team set up? How is the cell service, good enough to stream games? Thanks in advance

I don’t think we have a designated spot for visiting fans, but it seems like most visitors set up closer to the end of Stone Blvd as that’s where a lot of them end up parking.

Cell service…. Um I wouldn’t get your hopes up once you’re in the stadium or once it gets closer to gametime and campus gets busier. Seems to vary based on your carrier, too.

Visiting fans are always welcome at the SixPack tent as well. It’s the blue one that’s walking distance to the stadium

I can't remember if the green space is open for fans to the right of what I circled.

So far there are 2 serious responses. For a straight answer to your 2 questions, no there’s not a specific visitor tailgate area and no, I wouldn’t count on good enough cell service to stream games. Service is normally not a problem, but on game days it is.

I don’t know enough to speak definitively, haven’t really tailgated in a long time. But I’m going to give you some thoughts and let someone else correct me if anything is wrong.

For me, I’d want to figure out where I could park and then base it off of that. Looking at last year’s parking map and assuming it hasn’t changed, I think I’d park in the Health Center/IEB area. There’s plenty of green space between there and the stadium I’m assuming you could set up. The closer you get to the stadium, of course, the more activity there will be.
Directly south of the stadium has been our main tailgating area, but that’s all corporate now from what I understand. They do single-game rentals if you want to spend some money on it. That’s through Southern Traditions Tailgating.

The interactive gameday map is here: Gameday Map | MSU Campus Maps

I have clouded the area (grass lot by Pace Hall) that I used to park in a few years ago and is the same one dawgstudent highlighted. I think it is $30 to park there now and visiting fans always were set up there along Stone Blvd where I sketched a red line. It has been a few years, but this area would probably be a good bet if you get there a few hours ahead of time. Plus depending on the direction you're headed when the game is over - you can get out pretty quickly on HailState Blvd, Blackjack, or Oktoc.

As far as cell service - it is hit or miss tailgating and in the stadium. At the AZ State game, about half of my texts went through the first time I tried. Sending pics is mostly miss. The TN game is going to be packed, so I wouldn't count on great service when the crowd fully arrives. ETA: I missed where you asked about cell service allowing game streaming - no way.

That green space is generally where the visiting school’s alumni association will set up their official tailgate, assuming they do one
