He can take the SF job, double his pay for a 3-4 years, and then comeback to take over the Arkansas program after DVH retires. It's a great move on his part.Bad move.
Probably will be taking a pay cut.He can take the SF job, double his pay for a 3-4 years, and then comeback to take over the Arkansas program after DVH retires. It's a great move on his part.
IF he takes the job, it wont be a pay cut. It would make zero sense to take a pay cut and move to a state with crazy high taxes in a city that's ridiculously expensive. That's just not going to happen unless he truly hates being in Knoxville.Probably will be taking a pay cut.
I think if you had a guy winning multiple national titles somewhere like USM, yeah you could maybe make the argument that he might do well in MLB.Bad move. There is no bigger difference in the college and pro games than in baseball.
I do think there's some things you can learn in MLB that can help you in college, but not much the other way around.

But Vitello is just a dude who did well at a Top 1% school in college baseball. Won big by having way more talent than just about everyone in the postseason, and had more talent than most in the regular season too. He won’t have those same advantages in MLB.
