The VT defender came down with control and came back up with control of the ball, but the ground moved the ball just a little bit... and they rule it incomplete?? That's ridiculous. Give the guy credit for making the catch. Instead, Michigan gets another call and they are in the endzone. Pretty ridiculous officiating tonight.

the call in overtime was even worse. And their kicker just lost it for them. Hate to see the smug-*** Wolverines back into a win in a bowl game they had no business being in in the first place.

but they are ruling it as if the ground moves the ball AT ALL, that isn't control.... but both times the receiver came down with control and came back up with control. Big 17ing difference there. That is complete ********.

But I was still surprised they saw enough to overturn it.

The nose of the football hits the grounds.

the rule doesn't say anything about the ball not being able to touch the ground, it says the ground can't aid in gaining control of the pass, and in both of those cases with VT, I don't feel the ground helped the receiver make the catch.

If the ball hits the ground, there's no way the pass can be complete.

It touched the ground on the Michigan touchdown out of the back of the endzone.

the ball can touch the ground as long as it doesn't help the receiver maintain control. In that case, I don't think it did. Besides, it has to be indisputable to overturn. I don't think there was enough evidence.

I guarantee they wouldn't have taken that away from Michigan. Makes me hate them even more. Beamer made some stupid calls that cost them the game way before OT though.

If Michigan had been the 13th team in the SEC this year, they would have finished 10th. Only ahead of us, UK, and TN.

That conference was two good football teams, 1 decent football team(Nebraska), and however many else garbage football teams. It is a complete farce that Mich/VT played in the damn Sugar Bowl. Neither team would have won 3 SEC games, unless they lucked up and played the 3 aforementioned teams. It was strictly who the bowl thought could sell the most tickets. K-State and Baylor would have destroyed either of those teams tonight, but they wouldn't have brought as many fans, nor had the TV markets.

Just punt the ball and play defense. There's no way Michigan scores if you give them the ball on their own 20 and you get the ball back in decent field position with time on the clock.

So I guess if the ball moves because of the ground then it wasn't firmly controlled.
