Any updated final? Last I hear 21-20 Brookville. Thought this was an interesting match up for 3a early in the season.

If you mean just tonight, Orange lost and Albemarle beat Kettle Run 20-7. Powhatan crushed Midlo last night, and Western won last week.

Was this outcome a surprise or was Brookville favored in this one? I'm not familiar with what Brookville has this year, but I know W.A. really put it to Broadway last week.
I was surprised for what that is worth. Meeks has two wins over familiar foes this season. Always thought he was a good coach and made a great move leaving Louisa when he did.

WA has been good since Redmond took them over and Brookvile was fortunate to win. 2 TD's came off of turnovers returned for TD's. No excuses. It happens but don't underestimate WA. They are better than this game may indicate. Redmond is an exceptional Coach. They are solid and will be a tough out for any of their opponents.

Yeah I would not count WA out I would say district is battle between Powhatan, Monticello, and WA. Not sure if Albemarle or Louisa will join this list or not, guess we will see in a few weeks.

Well they should have beaten Broadway . there terrible, most Jv's could have knocked them off.. WA, is in a week conference they should dominate, hell Louisa crushed them last year, Brookville should have crushed them by 4 tds easily ...my friend attended the game and said the ref's were keeping WA in the game and they didn't call holding penalties and all but when u have to play 11 on 11 and ur the home town favorite you will win every time. So am guessing the loses last year are away from home am sure.. Last years team was better in my option.. there Jv's lost to Brookville 38-6

I disagree that the JD is weak but it's certainly not the Seminole or the BD. Ref's are mandatorily from other Districts to prevent assertions of "home cookin". Holding occurs on every play in HS Football. It has to be pretty blatant and right in front of the Ref to be called. The hometown favorite doesn't get a break but must admit it seems that way at times. The refs do the best they can but it's HS. They've had the training and are qualified but there's no doubt there are better crews than others. No instant replay. Accept that it's part of the game. You'll be happier.

Holding should not be called unless is has a direct effect on the play. When holding is called 30 yards away from ball carrier on opposite side of field or 30 yards behind the play, that is bad call.

My favorite holding call was several years ago, #55 was flagged for holding. There was no one on field wearing #55.
