Graveman is a great option for tomorrow. Well-rested and ready to go by all accounts. If he can keep a power team like Florida off the scoreboard, he should be able to handle Samford's potent line-up.

Lets throw the ground ball pitcher against the team that seems like they have some power.

Lets throw the ace against the #3 national seed.

"saving" your ace and "resting" your ace... right?

Smith threw 122 last Wed. and 117 last Sunday. He's beat. He needs the rest. They're pitching their #2 because he's their best option for Friday.

I'm in the throw Stratton crowd.... primarily because it would be an absolute waste of our ace to have him pitch an elimination game against UAB.

with that being said, i also think we should throw stratton game1 because what if uab beats fsu #3 with busby it is possible, very possible

no one cares if he is being saved or resting, which you are correct he is resting, but the point was that their #1 guy is not pitching but their #2 is. I don't care either way who we throw, I would prefer Stratton as well though mostly because this is a really well hitting ball club.

Samford is saving their ace (which they are not) to verify their belief that Stratton should be saved for Saturday (MSDawg34), they look foolish.

If Stratton had thrown 122 and 117 on Wednesday and Sunday of last week, I'd want to "save" him too... cause he'd be too tired to be effective.

Samford is a good hitting ball club and if Gravemen's groin isn't right, he could have us behind the 8 ball real, real quick. No need for an "experiment" in the tournament... throw Stratton Friday, win the damn game, and then get ready for FSU/UAB on Saturday.

The more I read up on Samford, the more that game worries me. I like our ability to play up to the level of our competition in game 2 against FSU with some one other than Stratton, better than hoping Graveman doesn't have an off night or hoping is groin is better. We really need to win game 1.
