Five minutes in and it is the best scene since the season opener because Negan. Would be appointment viewing every week if he killed everyone in Rick's camp except Maggie and we just followed him around from now on.

Negan didn't want to use the mattresses, just didn't want Alexandria to have any. Mind games; sleeping on the floor sucks.

In what season will Rick kill Negan with Lucille?

Negan is kind of starting to irritate me. The way he talks with that affect the ENTIRE time is like nails on a chalkboard after a while. He also does these weird moves with his shoulders where he dips them for emphasis. Must have done it like 10 times last night. You don't always have to be "On", buddy. Just talk like a normal scary person some times instead of the "I'm going to sarcastically talk to you in this overly positive manner the whole time but it's apparent I'm just being a dick". I mean, it grew real old after 90 minutes.

Negan acts like a teenager in high school. This character is the first to take the show in a negative direction. He sucks and this forced control isn't what the show has been about. It's time to get back to kicking *** and killing walkers.

i still can't get over the fact that gasoline would be all but useless, basically paint thinner at this point. they wouldn't be driving around anything other than probably farm diesel crap. end rant. i like Negan. find it hard to believe that no one wouldn't have shot him at this point. he needs a viable back story. which the writers are too crappy to do.

Yeah.....and I think if this were a real life situation (yeah, no Walkers in real life, but let's leave them out of this) and you had just had a first hand display of what Neegan did to a couple of members of your group, you have to know that this is eventually wind up with them killing you even if you play along with them. In real life, you'd go back, inform everybody what happened to Glen(n) and Abe, and what the deal is going to be if you don't do something about it. Your people are armed to the teeth, and have a touching hand held grenade launcher. Why wouldn't you keep those weapons and ammo ready to go near the gates, with a couple of lookouts watching for the Saviors 24/7? When Neegan say "lil' pig, lil' pig, let me in"....you open the gates, hit them with the RPG....then light them up with whoever has the RPG still hitting them. Pretty sure Neegan isn't going to be able to pull that grenade over the left field wall with Lucille, and at the very worst, you're going to put the Saviors on the run and wondering if this is going to be worth their trouble.

But...like the old MST3K theme song says...."just repeat to yourself it's just a show, and should really just relax".....

^^^This is why Negan showed up a couple of days early. Can't give Rick and company a chance to plan an ambush.

That's why you hold a town meeting as soon as you get back, and you keep lookouts posted 24/7 as soon as the meeting is adjourned while everyone else gets busy stashing the weapons at an easy to get to location that is close to the gates. That's in "real life", of course. The show probably wouldn't be as interesting with Neegan's bullet or shrapnel riddled body hitting the ground followed by many other Savior bodies meeting the same fate with the rest scrambling to GTFO of there. Might make for an action packed few minutes, but then you'd have to move on to another story line.

i don't know the stats, but i do know we have more military hardware just sitting around in this country than anyone can actually fathom. tanks, choppers, humvees, rocket launchers, mobile launching death machines. stock piles of destruction by numbers i can't imagine. yet with most of the world dead, these survivors are still riding around on bikes and old used cars and rv's. we have seen 2 goddamn tanks in 7 seasons. i would be riding in freaking style. presidential bullet proof limos surrounded by .50 cals on endless humvees in my posse and a wall of tanks for pure intimidation. i mean there would have to be some survivor at some point that knew how to pilot a black hawk or something.

He could, but you still have to man up and be ready for them instead of just opening the gate and letting them take whatever. You have to know that eventually, there will be nothing left for you to scavenge for them and you'll have nothing left to take. When that time comes, then they'll just kill you. Might as well find out if they're actually willing to go toe to toe in a firefight against a pretty well armed settlement instead of someone who will just roll over for them.

I was thinking while watching Negan knock on the gate, how someone should have just blasted through the fence with s shotgun at close range instantly killing Negan and causing chaos amongst his ranks. I believe Negan is the only thing holding that group together and when he falls, I would imagine they would fight amongst themselves to take over the Saviors. They probably would end up splintered into multiple factions. With the weapons Alexandria had, I think they could have held them off until they retreated back to their base and the chaos would have started.

If you want to take the wuss route and let them take your stuff, why the heck would you let Negan know that you are organized enough to have a freaking log book listing every single firearm in existence there? How hard is it to burn the damn thing and hide some of the weapons? They didn't know what you had before you took the weapons from the Saviors and they also didn't know what Alexandria already had and what you acquired away from there (like a freaking rocket powered grenade launcher). They could have sealed that stuff up and buried it under some bodies in the graves or something to use when they might fight back in the future.

So right now they are pretty much screwed until they can get help from the Hilltop and Kingdom. I think I would say to hell with you Rick and your constantly stupid ideas and grab some supplies and leave. If he wasn't so stupid to empty out the quarry, they could have blocked that up better and had an army of undead soldiers to use in the future. Like right now would have been an opportune time. Lead those things to outside your gate and reinforce weak spots and make the Saviors have to fight through thousands of them. I swear we could probably put together our own group that would have survived much better than what Rick has done.

Actually, you wouldn't be riding in ****. Not at their current time from the initial outbreak. Gasoline would be useless, by the point they are at in the show, it should have broken down and separated from its mixture.

I just watched a movie I hadn't seen in a while 28 Days Later. It sure seems exactly like the plot to The Walking Dead early on.

The Walking Dead - Guy gets hurt on the job and ends up in a coma. He wakes up about a month later in a hospital with no one else around. He finds dead bodies all over the place as he searches through town. He ends up finding a couple people who help him and explain what is going on. He finds other survivors and they travel to a city looking for help, but when they get there, the city is destroyed and overrun by zombies.

Another throw away episode tonight. Only 2 more episodes left this half of the season. Let's hope they start building to a decent ending for this halfway point.

DVRed tonight, but I knew it was going to be awful. Two weeks in a row of the worst episode in series history. Whoever is writing the episodes these days needs to get **** canned in a hurry. Based on the comic book material, this season should be awesome. The comic book material after the war with the Saviors gets pretty bland for a while (though it does pick up when the next big enemy comes along), I have no idea how they are going to recover from this season if they don't start picking it up ASAP because it's pretty clear they are pretty good in turning gold source material into ****. What are they going to do when the source material is ****?

If you read some of the things being said on Reddit and other places the next enemy may appear sooner rather than later. Which of course makes no sense.

I have to figure they nearly entirely eliminate the story arc between the Saviors and the next enemy. Won't say who that is for the non-comic readers though. There's no way they could do a long season story arc about that time period without it being quite possibly the shitiest television we will ever see. Just will not translate to TV well at all if they can't figure out the current story arc. Either that or the next major enemy is completely new to the Walking Dead universe
