Ratings continue to drop. Is it the over the top Negan portrayal? Or killing off two of the fans favorites?

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...s-are-lower-than-ever-is-neegan-to-blame.html

1. Too much soap opera nonsense.
2. Negan....Was more suspenseful when he was a just a scary name, and not the new host of the tonight show.
3. Not enough Rick being Rick.
4. Feminism
5. social engineering
6. Needs some new material and a co-director badly.
7. Getting away from it's roots.

Or maybe that's my gripe.

its been the same season over and over again for a while now. new bad guys, group gets into trouble with, separate, have 2 character only development episodes for the big chunk of the season, regroup and fight bad guys. a casualty or two. then move on to new area and encounter new bad guys. heros vs villians with a lot of filler. but little substance. you could easily take the time they first encountered the governor up till now and condense down to maybe 2 seasons or less and get the same story across. they stretch our very little action into 16 episodes.

The fact they had entire episodes focusing on tertiary characters and largely kept central characters off the air for weeks at a time is probably what would be #1, plus people being gigantic pussies over the brutality of the deaths in the first episode.

No one cares about Tara. No one cares about Heath. No one cares about Enid. Carl is one of the most hated characters on the show. Why did they have their own episodes or were the major characters in an episode?

Tara, and to a lesser degree Heath, getting their own episode is one of the most baffling things I have ever seen on TV. I frankly forgot she even existed, as did most people.

About the only character I care enough about to get a whole episode devoted to them is Negan. That is if they did his back story and showed what he was before and how he became Negan and took control of his army. It would have been a perfect time to do that when they spent the whole episode with mostly Negan and Carl 2 episodes ago.

Have they ever done an episode that takes place before the outbreak with anyone other than Rick and Shane? I can't recall if they did. It seems like all of the episodes on the individual characters are just done after something split the group up and they have to put in filler until they are back together again. Since this show has become almost all human drama with very little zombie encounters anymore, I wish they would have done a spinoff series that was more of a horror genre instead of the same crap all over again with Fear the Walking Dead.

I miss zombies playing a bigger part in this show like they did the first couple seasons before they started rehashing the same story over and over. Group finds a place to live. Group meets up with a new enemy. Group fights and ultimately kills enemy but is split up in the process. Group gets back together and rinse and repeat. Just not much creativity anymore with the direction they keep going. To make things worse they now have or will have 6 freaking groups possibly all at once. Just way too much going on and hopefully they don't milk this conflict with the Saviors out the rest of the season (which you know they will).

I remember seeing Michonne and her baby at some point before the **** hit the fan.

Rest of the season? More like 1 & 1/2 seasons IMO.

That's what I'm afraid of. Probably will go something like this.

Episode - Talk the people of Alexandria into fighting.
Episode - Travel around from place to place.
Episode - Hunt for supplies.
Episode - Talk the Hilltop into fighting.
Episode - Travel around from place to place.
Episode - Hunt for supplies.
Episode - Talk the Kingdom into fighting.
Episode - Travel around from place to place.
Episode - Hunt for supplies.
Episode - Talk Oceanside into fighting.
Episode - Work on strategy against the Saviors.
Episode - Scout against the Saviors.
Episode - Fight against the Saviors.
Episode - Fight against the Saviors some more.
Episode - Capture or kill Negan.

Start all over again with the Whisperers after that.

I watch hoping something different happens but it never seems to change. I'm also a big fan of zombies and keep giving it a chance because of that. I just want them to go back to what made it so good and let the zombies play a bigger part like in the first 2 seasons. You can have some human drama, but it doesn't need to be 95% of the time. If the ratings keep dropping, the human drama and the constant filler will be the reason this show gets cancelled.

I am just glad they are zombies who have been smoking weed and not the zombies that are on meth like the World War Z zombies. Those things kept me tensed up so much I had to take a muscle relaxer at the end of the movie to relive muscle spasms.

Eventually the zombies will just decompose enough that they can't attack anyone right?

I could understand them being quick in the beginning, the muscle tissue is still there. As they decompose though I would think they'd just be piles of mush. The problem in the walking dead universe is that everyone is infected and turns upon death. I still wish we knew if it was world wide or just in America.

Definitely word wide. Russia would have already brought help if not.

Theyll just slow down on the decomposition. Shows always find a way to make the impossible happen.

The governor was a much better bad guy. He woulda chopped negans head off and done bad things to his throat. Negan is just a self centered drama queen that carries around a bat because he thinks it makes him look tough

Negan's crew included about 30 people, chopped off heads in a fish tank, and a zombie locked in a closet. Negan has a complete army, outposts, a trainee program, about a thousand people that literally bow to him, multiple wives, and many other communities that willingly give him their stuff. I tend to think Negan is slightly better.

Decent episode last night. The freeway scene with the 2 cars and cable was awesome. Starting to tie everything together. For those who follow what's "in the comics",

what is up with the new group by the boat? I remember at the end of the mid season finale that there was someone outside Alexandria and I guess he is part of this new group. So is Father Gabriel connected with this group for some reason? Maybe making deals behind the scenes.

That look that Rick gave at the end was interesting. Was he already thinking about this being the army he needs to fight the Saviors with? Rick does some stupid stuff so it is hard to see him thinking that far ahead . The preview for next week had the new group saying something like they own them now and Rick saying that the Saviors do and will come looking for them. So he definitely looks like he is going to try and and get them to fight the Saviors and then maybe move in to take out whoever is left standing.

It will be dumb if they use the same story over again with the new group in place of the Saviors so hopefully that doesn't happen.

I liked he episode last night. Rick got his balls back, the group as a whole isn't acting like a bunch of scared idiots, and they are finally shaping things up to tell a story instead of half a season of exposition.

Hoping Gabriel eats it. For a supposed holy man, he's been an ******* since they met him. Not sure why he did what he did to start the episode, but I hope it gets him killed. Carol needs taken into the woods and disemboweled with a wooden cooking spoon and left bleeding in the moonlight as well. She was one of my favorite characters when she was murdering a girl by making her look at the flowers and being a ninja who could bake cookies in season 5, but what they have turned her into just sucks.

Sounds similar to this quote from the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves movie.

[the Sheriff has said he'll cut out Robin Hood's heart with a spoon]
Guy of Gisborne: Why a spoon, cousin? Why not an axe?
Sheriff of Nottingham: Because it's DULL, you twit. It'll hurt more.

So I'm guessing that new crew of people is supposed to be The Whisperers? If so, it's deeply disappointing that they weren't wearing zombie skin.

I need to see that scene again. I missed it and didn't DVR it last night and only saw the last couple seconds of that part. I saw what looked like a bunch of women in the background and I assumed it was the Amazons from Bulldyke Island that Tara found.

I'm pretty sure there were a lot of dudes mixed in with the crowd. And their leader was not one from Vaginaville.

I just don't see us getting the whisperers right now. At least, if we are we are getting a ****** reveal. Nothing about that was special last night. Just normal people in normal clothing. The whisperers need introduced just like they were "in the comics". That lead up until you found out what was going on had you thinking the zombies were getting smarter.

I don't think that was the whispers if it was, that was a bad reveal. I was also wondering what that resident evil thing was. About time Rick found his nuts again.

Disagree. She has her moments.
False. While a badass, Michonne is fugly. TS. If I was Rick, I'd be trying to knock those Maggie boots before she starts showing that preggers belly. Although with her new look with the baseball cap and the fingerless gloves, she's a flannel shirt and a pair of timberland boots away from being Tara's wet dream.
