He's referenced it, and I've heard it from others prior to Freeze's hiring that we have about 15 or so guys that need to either get their mind right or be removed in terms of their attitude and their dedication to the team.
To be fair to Brusier, Mr. Freeze said this first.boorod wrote:<br style="font-weight: bold;"><br style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">

And the players who were cancers. They weren't cancers just because of the leadership and environment. They were the cause of the bad environment, helped by the lack of leadership. The program was out of control b/c of the leadership/environment.
So why didn't we see any of these players go off to some small school and do anything there? Usually if they're half-way worth a ****, you'll at least hear that they're contributing for their I-AA team. These players didn't even do that.Rarely do players who are run off amount to anything measurable b/c they usually go to some small school and no one ever hears from them again
I was thinking the same thing, it's one thing for that idiot Freeze to say it, but for Bruiser to repeat it like it actually has some meaning is just funny. And road grader types might be even funnier. Also, on Massie going pro like someone asked earlier in the thread, I think I might go pro too, why don't we all go pro? To play in the NFL you have to have something to offer. This thread has some funny **** in it. It is comical to see rebels like Bruiser being forced to buy into the Freeze hire, they have no choice of course but to try to buy into it because he's going to be there for a few years, but deep down not a single sane rebel is happy with that hire. Nutt and Orgeron were better.boorod said:"Markuson/Nutt recruited a bunch of road grader types, the 6-7, 340 body type," ............that couldn't block

It always amazes me when people ask how things could have been worse under Croom, as if 2003 never happened. Croom was a bad college football coach, but nothing he ever did here was as awful as 2003. This years Bear squad would have beaten that team by three touchdowns.patdog said:But it would have been even worse if we'd kept those guys on the team. Crxxm never went 2-10 like UM just did and he did take us to one bowl game, so it definitely could have been worse. As for never hearing of players other than a QB, that's ********. We usually hear a little bit about where our former players go here and there. We NEVER heard anything at all about any of the ones Crxxm ran off except for Wilson at USM and Turner who got run off at Murray St.
with this. These players are run off and never heard from again because they don't have what it takes mentally./ Physically, they are right on par with NFL players, more or less. What seperates good from great, isn't anything physically measure or something they can blame on others (didn't have good leaders/coaching/etc).[b said:8Dog[/b]]Rarely do players who are run off amount to anything measurable b/c they usually go to some small school and no one ever hears from them again...
Right. So which of those teams was worse than 2003?8Dog said:we almost beat Maine and Vandy in the same year.
The 2003 team lost games by an average of over 26 points. That includes losses to Tulane, Houston, and Kentucky. That is hard to do, even at State. You don't have to split hairs to call that the worst season we've had in recent memory. That is why it still amazes me when people ask how it could ever have been worse. It was worse one year before he got the job.8Dog said:with a winning record as the 04-06 teams did combined. The same Memphis team that beat Eli his 7-1 SEC season. The 2003 team beat a 2-9 vandy team while the 2004 team lost to a 2-9 Vandy team.
At best, we are splitting hairs. But at least we were disciplined.
I'll take that point plus a win over Florida. Another one for me. I'm on a roll.8Dog said:we lost to Maine and UAB by an average of 8 points. That's an 18 improvement over 2003.
Point for you.
Remind me again which one the head coach gets credit for. Is it the how the offense performs or how the defense performs?8Dog said:and personalities have an impact? That's kind of been my whole point.
But to that end, we had the worst defensive coordinator in the history of college football in 2003. That's a fact. I looked it up.
Meanwhile, Croom had some guy named Ellis Johnson.
