I said I would never be the one to start a thread like this, but does anyone have experience with U-Verse in the Jackson area? I'm thinking about getting the AT&T version of the Comcast Triple Play but don't have any experience with U-Verse. Any info is appreciated.

Also, if anyone can point me to a thread where this has been discussed I'll delete this one.

Have for over 2 years & love it.

I go with Internet & the U-200 (or similar) package with the sports tier added on. Far superior to comcast or time warner cable. Better guide, better DVR, better service & channel selection.

Of course, they were all former Directv people.

Common complaints: Picture quality not as crisp as Directv, DVR freezes often, sound/picture syncing issues

Common Praises: Faster Internet, won't lose signal in thunderstorm

Also, with the deals you can haggle out of Directv, it's not that much cheaper, if at all.

Besides, all you really need is Noggin' (Nick Jr.) and Sprout and a good DVR.

never had any problems with the DVR freezing and think the picture quality is fine. In fact I cannot complain one bit other than not having CSS.

I think it's bunch of games that are only on CSS... If U-verse had those games it would be an easy decision since Comcast is going all-digital and you will have to have a box on each TV like U-verse...

I'd give anything to get Comcast out of my life - lots of comically bad customer service stories over the years (my favorite was when I got a new TiVo and called to tell them I needed a "multi-stream cable card;" I leave work to meet the guy and he keeps wanting to look at all my cabling on the back of everything, so I finally tell him to go ahead and install the cable card. He says, "Cable card? They told me you needed a multi-stream cable CORD"). U-Verse is slowly closing in on my neighborhood, but I'm still hesitant to ditch Comcast b/c of the games on CSS.

Last year CSS usually aired the worst SEC matchup of the weekend. Since our non conference games with Memphis and CUSA have already been picked up by Fox, I would imagine at worst only our UT-Martin game would be a candidate for a CSS game.<div>

but they offered me a package last week that included CSS. May not be available everywhere but I'd check on it.
