Lots of people on this board say we get preferential treatment. We don't.

Reply to engie: RPI #20 in the SEC won't get you much consideration for hosting because as you point out, there will be too many teams from the conference ahead of you.

We've had 2 SEC teams get hosting bids since 2005 with RPIs outside the top 20...

Basically, the conference standings have long been the "tiebreaker" because there was good parity in the overall conference schedule. I don't think that can be the case anymore now -- so they are going to have to lean more heavily on RPI and ISR IMO. Both of those are playing in our favor this year after playing against us last year...

Not far fetched at all. If we win 5 out of 6 against the state of Alabama, AND take 2 from Vandy...we could possibly begin entering the National Seed discussion. But like Engie mentioned in a different thread, it will likely take close to 20 SEC wins, and us tightening the gap with LSU and Vandy, to even think National Seed.

We'd be kicking *** to win every series 2-1 from here out, and that would get us to only 18 SEC wins. But is we take 2 of 3 from every one of them, the series wins against Vandy, SCar & Ole Miss might well be more than enough to propel us into National Seed status. If we go 3-3 against Vandy & SCar, then 6-3 versus AU, Bama & Ole Miss, might that not be possibly enough depending on what the teams in front of is in the polls do? That'd be 17 SEC wins, and we'd need some help from a couple of Top 8 teams faltering some, but our RPI would be pretty killer.

We need to sweep Auburn. The Vandy and OM series' will be tough. 3-3 from those two would be a success.

Auburn sweep, 3-3 from VU and OMU, and 2/3 from Bama and USCe at home gets us 18 and a host lock
