Why does Kyle Field need to be renovated?
Because Texas A&M deserves the finest collegiate facilities and the goal is to build the greatest venue in the history of college football. Millions of people see Texas A&M University through football Saturdays in the fall and this facility will make a statement that the Aggies do not settle, we commit to excellence in everything we do. A redeveloped Kyle Field will amplify and honor our past and our traditions while expanding the intimidation factor.

What's going to be funny is seeing that 100,000 seat monstrosity half full. Never expand a stadium because of one football player.

Yep that could be the case. The fact is that Kevin Sumlin has not had a winning record as a head coach without a top 5 college QB (statistically) of all time. Yes you can give him credit for developing those QB's.. but we'll see how life is post JFF.

I think Texas A&M is one of those lucky schools like Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama, etc. where they can pack the house each year no matter their record or hype surrounding the season. I say if they can afford it, go for it...

They had to round up people to pack the stadium before JFF. That's from older threads on the rant. The corp would come drag them out of the dorms. They are a weird-*** bunch of people.

They are a weird-*** bunch of people.

This is the God's honest truth. Growing up and now living in Texas, I've seen and known too many. Y'all have probably heard them described as cultish. There's a reason for that.

To be fair, they're not all like that, but enough to enforce the stereotype.

Yes. Very cultish. They think they are The Service Academy of The Republic of Texas and they behave the very same way that service academies behave. After meeting a few of them you will begin to think that Santa Anna dude wasn't such a bad guy after all.

I work with several Aggies and they are indeed a different breed of cat. Their

battle to the death with Texas over the past decades made them what they are today and now they have successfully kicked sand into the face of Texas by joining the SEC and it is working out better than they could have ever expected. They are riding high these days.

They did sign the no. 1 QB recruit in the land this year. His talent was enough for one of the favorites for the job to decide to transfer. Probably won't be as bad as you think.

Gosh yes. What is up with that? I have no problem with it, but it is a trend I've noticed. Is it the male version of a mum, post-graduate related or something?

I'd say about half of them do

And the ones who wear it are the ones to watch out for. They also have a serious mancrush on al, sec schools right now, they don't understand we aren't supposed to really like each other.

That's not going to happen. There is already a waiting list for tickets (I looked into buying some, wife is an aggie). Secondly they have more money than Ft. Knox and are about 3 hours from about 11 million people. Now, those 11 million people that are not longhorns or LSU fans have a reason to go see good football (SEC). Plus, most SEC teams have a lot of people living in TX that will go see their team when they come to College Station.

I have to wonder if other fan bases around the country would describe MSU folks as a "weird bunch of people".

Then I moved to Houston. Yep, they are a strange breed. Still haven't figured out the woop thing is but it weirds me out every time I hear it. Also - "former student" - WTF? Sounds like you dropped out instead of graduated.

Unless we start taking our freshman class to "fish camp" every year to indoctrinate them on the positives of homoerotic faux militarism then probably not.

We have the Pony for that.

Told y'all a long time ago aTm wasn't going to "fit in". Not sure they fit in anywhere actually. Bunch o weirdos over there. Maybe the SEC should add West Virginia to the East to counterbalance their weirdness? Those two can play each other each year and call it the Freaks and Tweaks Bowl.

This thread is hilarious. I bet if we could get a few true Longhorn fans to give some affirmation to what yall are saying about A&M it would be truly hilarious.

Longhorn fans aren't much better. But I would live around them before I lived around some Aggies if I had the choice.

JFF was a freak of nature. A once in a lifetime kind of player. Unless he recruits and signs Iron Man Sumlin will never be able to duplicate the run he had with JFF.

I wouldn't. With Aggies, most of them actually went to and graduated from A&M. Good luck matching anyone wearing Longhorn paraphernalia to an attendee or graduate. They are almost mutually exclusive.

I know one thing....when they came to starkville 2 years ago, their male cheerleaders (or whatever they are called) flat out made me uncomfortable. That is the gayest (not that there's anything wrong with that) thing I have ever witnessed at a football game, by a long shot. They really need to do away with that.
