Was Not Dan Instrumental in Recruiting Tebow?

Don't you think Tebow would have been a little more discerning and circumspect if Mullen had a "grating personality" or that "Yankee charm"

I think Dan is a type A personality (like many of us) and sometime ppl don't like that, apparently some really really good football players at UU, UF, and MSU did.

I heard a Bear say that..."Mullen can't relate to southern black boys" I told him you're prolly right.....geez

was recruiting him to FLORIDA might have made a difference? I have no clue how Mullen is with recruits so I don't want to imply that I do. But, if he did have a "grating" personality, it might have helped that he was recruiting Tebow to one of the top 2-3 programs in all of college football.

the superior coach hands down, Nutt probably is more "charming" in a living room with a recruit's family. Dan is from the Northeast and is very matter of fact and to the point. He's also a straight shooter and is not going to lay it on thick just to schmooze anyone. I think he also speaks at about twice the rate that Nutt does so that may not go over that well at times too. Now if a family just wants to know how a recruit stands with us and what would be expected of him and how he will be developed once in our program, then Dan is the Man you want.

He'll learn. Right now he's walking into recruits' homes and comes off as very arrogant and only has a 14-11 overall record. He's done a great job of setting the bar at 3-star, and once these guys make Mullen's record better he's going to be able to go into homes and BE arrogant and not come off as a prick to 4 and 5 stars. That's the difference.

I would love for his wife to be more involved though. E-v-e-r-y--s-i-n-g-l-e--p-l-a-y-e-r LOOOOOVES her.

Nutt being much more personable with these recruits, especially the parents. I don't know anything more than any of you but I can just imagine that he is great at laying out a really nice fairy tale to the kids and their parents.

I for some reason don't see Mullen being that way. I have no basis for this line of thinking other than hearing both of them interviewed and Nutt's history of heppin people.

Most of us have liked his way of thinking and it has been nice to have a coach that appears confident in his team. It just may not go over well with the recruits or their parents.

As far as Mrs. Megan goes, didn't Cam make some comment that it was harder telling her he was not coming here than telling Mullen or did I just make that up?
