Deaths in the last ten years by pipe bombs = about a dozen or so
Deaths in the last ten years by guns/mass shootings = tens of thousands

Keep going, you're on the right track.
Guns can be targeted, pipe bombs cannot. Any type of bomb requires a certain planned expertise to put together. Those two had help in making them. It will interesting to find out whom, if they can be found.

It actually doesn't take a whole lot of expertise. You can go to a library and pretty much spend an hour or two and walk knowing exactly what you need from materials and how to build one. A simple google search will also work.

With that dis-proportionality you want me to define mass shootings? [laughing]

The folks that keep track of those statistics say four or more injured or dead in the same shooting (at the same time and place).
Are you putting in gang related shootings with your flawed statistic?

I made homemade bombs at home when I was in middle school. Started with match head bombs, then CO2 cartridges and fireworks. Used to throw them down the groundhog holes in the woods.

It's not hard to do.

Do you think they did it on their own? I heard the cost of all the stuff they had approached $30,000. I know you can get this info on line but do you think they acted alone or had help?

We used M-80's. The ones you could by back in the 60's. Some good stuff back then.

The two rifles mentioned, under $1000 each. The handguns, $500-600 each. 1000 rounds of .223 can be found for $350-$450. 9mm/.40 less than that.

Now the body armor and other items could push that cost up, but the guns and ammo alone I can't imagine costing then more than $5000-$6000.

Quite a bit more ammo than that. Just reporting what was reported this morning. Thought I saw 9,000 rounds of ammo. They were using a detached garage to work on bombs and amass supplies.

Funding? I don't know. Whether they had help or not, I don't know. I was merely pointing out that what they had was easily obtainable as was the knowledge to put it together.
