A Storm is brewing…

🚨BREAKING: West Virginia, South Carolina, and Ohio are sending National Guard troops to assist in Washington, D.C.

So let me get this straight…

Trump sends in the DC National Guard, takes over MPD, immediately announces he want’s access to the Smithsonian Mueseam’s, the Secret Service announced residents could hear simulated gunfire, and now West Virginia, South Carolina, and Ohio are sending National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., and they just announced they’ll be carrying weapons

Lot of spicy things lining up…

This is how the Russians dealt with Hungary in 1956.

Any difference in crime? Or do you already live in an area with low crime?
Who knows. I will say, I'm not particularly moved by the DC police union's statistical tweets (eg, W2W carjackings down 83%, which essentially means there were six, and then there was one). Among other things, this is probably the worst time to make comparative analyses in the DMV, because so many people head out of town to the beach/congressional districts, kids are back in school, etc. In that respect, if crime does seem to go down, I think the only thing it will show is that Trump is no dummy when it comes to timing some of his public messaging. But then what are you going to do when it goes back up? Call it out, so he calls out the NG again? Or better yet, pushes amendments to DC home rule?

I live in an apt Arlington when I am up here; my office is in the heart of downtown DC, a few blocks from the WH, across from a large public park and bus/metro stop, and down the street from WaPo (where ne'er do wells sometimes hang out), i take public transit in and out. Anecdotally, talking with a buddy whose primary residence is still up here, he thinks there's some criminal migration across the Potomac Ocean to Arlington, where the local prosecutor is the former public defender and doesn't really buy into that whole "adversary criminal justice system" thingy.

Week to week data - particularly in the week where dc students head back to school and many other dc denizens head to the beach - is not particularly statistically enlightening.

It's sort of weird seeing the police union so out in front on this (they were the source of the stats) - it does show how (rightfully) pissed they were after the criminal reform bill a few years back which was truly over the top.

Saw a Metro transit cop last night on the way home, but otherwise still pretty quiet.

Interestingly though to the 'migration' point I was wondering about above, I stopped at a grocery store in a pretty suburban part of Arlington on my way home, and there were three homeless people camped out on the front 'porch' of the building. Anecdotal obviously, and not "crime", but frankly hadn't really seen that before.

In a similar vein, though the stats are almost certainly just as much crap as the police union stats, there was a local piece today about how for a small restaurant chain in the DMV, same day reservations in the DC locations were down year over year, while reservations were up at the NoVa locations. They were trying to suggest that this showed people were staying away from dinner out in DC due to the enhanced enforcement presence, but I think what their stats actually showed was that the "same day" last year happened to fall within Restaurant Week whereas that did not occur this year.

Now show the Epstein Files
You're gonna see them. Just not all of them. Any of them that mention Trump are going to be deep sixed or redacted so much that they won't be recognizable. Let's all hope that Trump, Bondi and Patel do just that, and that a "deep state" operative subsequently exposes their chicanery by leaking the genuine thing.

🚨 BOMBSHELL VIDEO: FED AGENTS & DC COPS BUST DRUG DEALER POSING AS HOMELESS – SEIZE MASSIVE DRUGS & CASH HAUL BLOCKS FROM WHITE HOUSE!😤💥
You WON'T BELIEVE the CHAOS that ensued: A DERANGED LIBERAL PROTESTER storms in, SCREECHING "PIGS! FASCISTS! TRAITORS!" at the officers, demanding they "GET OUT" and stop "harassing homeless people"! Reporter drops the TRUTH BOMB: "He's a DRUG DEALER, not homeless!" But she IGNORES FACTS, doubles down on her INSANITY via megaphone, and marches past REAL homeless folks without a glance – just another attention-seeking Soros puppet stirring chaos? 🤡

Meanwhile, ACTUAL homeless people spill the tea: Feds are "POLITE & RESPECTFUL," only targeting dealers and thugs – "Happy DC is being CLEANED UP!" This is the REAL DC crackdown MSM HIDES because it SHATTERS their "Orange Man Bad" narrative! 🔥🇺🇸

Watch the JAW-DROPPING footage NOW before Big Tech buries it! Give my friend & reporter @nickshirleyy a follow on X and YouTube for unfiltered truth!

so i would imagine this has been thought out, but don't attorneys need to be licensed to practice in DC?
Well ya, but attorneys can “wave in” depending on what state they are barred in. My wife is barred in Maryland and waved into DC. I don’t know what states DC allows and I don’t recall how labor intensive it was for my wife to go through the process … it wasn’t crazy though.

Wife does Workers Comp and Liability defense.

Watching late night commentary on tv. Looks like the dems are back to calling Trump racist again. This time for reducing crime in DC.
