They look extremely aggressive on defense. Fight through screens well and are very quick. Gonna be difficult for sure.

Do they not have a pure shooter?

I don't remember any Husky scoring outside the paint in that footage. Seems like if we can stop penetration we've got a good shot at beating them.

i think we play man (the stansbury staple) and sag off the guards while they're outside. we did the same against uk's terrible outside shooters. take away the drive and dare them to shoot outside. this will also make entry passes to the post more difficult, thus helping our interior defense.

i'm sure we'll use the zone some, though. i just hope we can rebound out of it. keeping them off the offensive glass is going to be key.

Just play our usual man defense but defend the pass from the outside guys more than the shot. And definitely don't let Thomas penetrate.

advantage Bost

Brockman is clumsy, but big and has a presence... fouls will be key

If V, gets into foul trouble... loooooonng day
If fouls go both ways, we should win by 14.

Just based on that video, because I will not pretend to know that much about UW......Our Guards will match up well against them and have a height advantage.

The key will be their size advantage down low vs Varnado and Turner. Brockman looks slow and doesn't seem to have much of a verticle. However, he looks strong and has a wide body. He will be able to box out and post up on Varnado and anyone else we have. But maybe Varnado's speed, verticle, and length will neutralize things.

It will be a matter of Varnado being able to get around the body of Brockman, grab rebounds and block shots. Same for Turner. Or, if we shoot lights out. Obviously then the offensive rebounds will not be that big of factor. But I see, statistically, they shoot poorly but led the pac10 in rebounding. We have to grab some defensive boards and limit their shot attempts.

The way State can shoot. If the guys hit a few early finding their touch, and can match them rebounding, we win.
