What's the deal with SMTTT (southern miss to the top)? Who came up with that? I've asked some of my usm friends and they don't know. Surprising, I know.

It started maybe a decade ago, and to this day probably half of the USM population (5) refuse to say it because it's so ridiculous.

It is from their alma mater.

But, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about USM history.

new traditions. They put out a little mailout type magazine that had all of these new cheers/traditions that they were starting and "to the top" was part of it. I know they do it after every first down. I also remember seeing the nitchampburg thing in that magazine.

NITchampsburg is nothing at all. Literally it consists of nothing but a sign that says "NITchampsburg" Nobody ever tailgates out there before basketball games. Nothing at all. Just a space on their campus and a sign.

Winning the NIT is like being the smartest kid in basic math class.
