our right tackle Kneivel is really struggling. He was beat more plays than not. He has slow feet and no nasty to him. This will be a serious problem for us as the season goes on and we go up against some strong Dlines. Hope he improves and quickly!

I did the same thing and came to same conclusion. He is good one on one in run game but deep pass protection against a speed rusher he isn't where he needs to be. He also isn't physical enough in my book, and has a hard time with stunts. In pass protection his feet and hips are in front of him. We really need our RT to improve. Hope he does.

You should consider one thing before you rush to judgment:

Wyoming has a future 1st Round Draft Pick at WDE in Carl Granderson. That kid is a stud. Listening to the Radio Broadcast and Brendan Stai was absolutely glowing about him. Nebraska doesn't have any player of his caliber on their roster. He's 6'6 245 and runs a legit 4.5.

Knevel needs to see some players like him, and learn how to adapt. And I have not concerns that he can adapt. He has tremendous feet, but sometimes you gotta get beat before you learn. (This learning method is why I would make a terrible pilot.)

Now, one thing that is concerning is the communication break downs with Knevel and Farmer. The coaches really need to figure this out. There shouldn't be so much confusion. When you're hesitant or confused as a linemen, you get beat or put your team behind the 8 ball.

One more thing about Granderson:

Wyoming signed him out of high school when he was 6'6 190. Kudos to Craig Bohl for seeing that type of potential.

This has zero to do with who he is blocking. Go back and watch the game, this kid is dogging it out there. Watch him pull a few times down the line and literally not even touch anyone..Its pretty bad.

I have watched him several times. I don't think he is dogging it but he is certainly undecided as to what to do. He comes around a corner and he hesitates because he doesn't trust what he sees. He rarely hits someone unless they hit him first. I am not sure about his feet - if they are indeed good then that is about all he has going for him. He gets beat on the outside rush too easily. He is definitely the weak spot. This is the kind of stuff that will kill us and has killed us, seems every team has a weak spot that gets exploited.
