Besides the obvious differences in talent and coaching, I was struck by how different the attitudes are of the team and Coach K. When they call timeout, the players run to the sideline and are high fiving. Our guys walk slowly like they are going to the principal's office and barely acknowledge one another. Coach K is up off the bench calling plays and into the game. Stansbury is in a coma.

The last straw for me yesterday was right before half time when the score was 27-26 Bama and we had the ball with 24 seconds to play. Does Rick call timeout and set up a play to take the lead going into halftime? Hell no. Dee takes a shot with 5 seconds left and Bama rebounds and calls timeout to draw up a play which nearly scores if not for a no call against Sidney at the buzzer. Stealing money I tell ya.

You'd have to pay me a full days wages plus travel plus a night at the VIP suite at the Holiday Inn Express to get me to watch a Stansbury practice.<div>
</div><div>As someone said here a week or so ago: in college sports, the coach is the only professional on the floor (despite whatever payments may be taking place).</div>

on there that is pretty impressive. Shows behind the scenes of Duke practices and preperation. I am certain after Saturday is totally opposite of our fiasco/ Coach K actually teaches fundamentals during film breakdown and explains why and what he is expecting.
Speaking of Saturday....first home game after all the mess, all the bad pub and this team and Coach have a chance to go out and get this crowd and fans behind them and...........they roll out the worst non hustling effort in years. It was pitiful

Glad you finally see how bad of a coach he really is, it sure took you long enough to see the light...

Before the season was over If I was stricklin. Its one thing to get beat by better teams but its a whole different ballgame when you get beat over and over because of lack of effort from both coach and team. I have not liked Stansbury for the last 4-5 years, I always felt he was an underachiever and wasting good talent. The first game I got to watch this year was St Mary's and it is clear we are out coached as soon as our players hit the floor. Duke is an elite program because of coaching, we are a crappy sec program because of coaching.

When we started LOSING is when it started bothering me. You guys used to bitcheven after wins. The Stansbury we have had the last couple of years is not the Stansbury we had for the previous decade. He has never exactly been John Wooden but even by his standards he is coaching like total crap now and seems completely detached from what is going on. You don't win all the games we have won over the last decade coaching like he has been doing lately. I really think there is something going on with him that we don't know about.

On here was saying he looked sick. When I watched the St Mary's game he sure looked different from the past. Real skinny and pale. Hope he is not sick for him and his family's sake!

But he's been clearly slipping a little the past few years and the wheels have come off now. It's time for a change.</p>

He actually did the program, while Sidney sat back and watched him, shoveling doughnuts down his trap.

I played for Coach K at West Point Military Academy his last year there (79-80). I'm sure his practices are a little different now, but he preached fundamentals over and over. We ran multiple motion plays against man-to man (Bobby Knight off) and zone. He emphasized CONDITIONING, good defense, rebounding and FREE THROW shooting. At West Point, our teams were small compared to other schools and fundamentals & conditioning were utmost importance. He was very much a disciplinarian on the court, but a nice person off the court. He has a lot of Bobby Knight tools in him but not near the *******.
Stans is stale as 2 week old bread. Time for the "Orgeron of college basketball" to move on. Great recruiter but a clown on X's & O's.

No joke.

That might be what it takes to win basketball games. You think?

He could be a great player if he would just get his head straight and get his fat-*** in shape... He is to blame for sure, but you have to put some of this on the coaching staff.

That is just it. Stansbury used to always emphasize rebounding and defense. That is all he used to talk about and wewere always near the top ofthe SEC in those two categories for most of the last decade. What the hell happened? I don't get it. It may look like the same guy somewhat but he has not coached like this his entire tenure.

I could always overlook the non motion offense as long as we were shutting down the other team and pounding them on the boards.
