Iowa has a great D. So does Michigan (plus their cheatin ways). We scored 7 on Michigan. Maybe shoulda had 10... maybe 13. Michigan's O helped their D. Iowa's O will hurt their D. But good D's have scored on us.

I don't think we can move Iowa to the W column all that easily. They have won despite having that offense. I'd guess it right now at 60/40 for us. But what if Iowa suddenly finds a way to move the ball? Unlikely.. but stranger things have happened late in seasons.

Beat Ohio State and then we can move Iowa to the W column... while we hope actually have a shot at the Big Ten title. I have about 10 more days to dream this dream. Let it go.

I think the opposite. We will go very vanilla as Iowa wins by turnovers.
They are known as a running team themselves but have been over 100 yds 4 times. Only 2 times in P5 play.
They have given up over 100 yds on the ground 6 times.
Rutgers have been over 100 6 times and given up 100 yds 5 times
We have 4 games over 250 yds on the ground and Wisc had the most against us with 213
Iowa has 1 game over 250 and that was W.Mich and PSU got 215 on them
TOP RU 32 mins and Iowa 27
Both Iowa and Rutgers have been very little penalized but Iowa opponents are the heaviest penalized. While our opponents rarely get called- we are at the bottom.

The way to win is TOP and not making mistakes against Iowa. Penalties and turnovers.
Hmmmmmmm- makes you wonder what the game plan will be.

BTW- on offense- we are a lot better on the ground then them and we are better in the air. 179- 117 on the ground and 148- 117 in the air
on Defense
RU 121-125 on the ground
RU 156-189 in the air
Helluva good post.

It is a weird game- we have Iowa by tge numbers but they are favored. I expect tge winning team to be 20 pts or less. A TO or something in ST’s will most likely decide this game.

While realistic.. it is also a little bit sad we seem to be so focused on Iowa.. and not our next foe. I get it... we all want at least one more win and hosting OSU is an unlikely place to get a W.

...someday.... soon I hope.

As fans, we are allowed to do this- I am sure the players are solid on OSU.

I was going over the stats and it was a little baffling to me that we were giving up much less yards per game then Iowa and yet, they gave up less points. 15.8 vs 14.5 (both very good)but they were giving up 313 yds vs our 276

Then I realized, the 2 pick 6's and 2 punt fumbles inside our 10. 28 pts that really shouldn't be on our defense
Our defense is really only giving up 12.3 pts a game
That would actually be 4th in FBS...but you know what sucks- all 3 top teams are in the B1G East.

I think BigTen offenses are built for inelegant workman-like scoring in harsh November conditions. Helps you win your division.. your rivalry games.. doesn't help indoors in the championship game nor come bowl season in warm nice conditions.

In some ways, basketball is similar. Big Ten teams are formed to win the Big Ten.. big bodies that bang.. then come the NCAAs the smaller guard teams run around us while we get called for fouls for being physical... the very thing you need to do to win in the Big Ten.

Agree- and having 5 B1G teams in the top 10 defenses in the nation isn't going to help the B1G produce a NC this year.
