Penn St ran out of fluke plays.
They had 7 straight drives for TDs. Yeah they got lucky at times, but doesn't everybody?

I could say they should have gotten blown out being -3 in the turnover category... it all evens out over the course of the game.

Big Ten has now won two Rose Bowls in the past 16 years. That's one more than the Mountain West (TCU at the time) has won.

But even though I despise Penn State, they represented the Big Ten well in this one. Terrific game.

4 of those last 16 Rose bowls the B1G didn't have a team involved in the Rose Bowl.

Last year we were there we were in the Big 12 too.

Yeah I know that, but you're still talking two Rose Bowl wins in 16 years. Tells me there's more going on than just geography.

Yeah, USC had a huge TD drive extended by a completion on a tipped pass. But I'm sure there's some logical explanation for why there was no luck involved on that play.

Big 10 won 4 Rose bowls in a row from 1997-2000. You are correct from 2001-2017 only two have won

Agreed on the fun to watch. Penn State shouldn't have gone to the long ball back to back. Got lucky it wasn't picked off the first time. SoCal has one heck of a QB, not to mention the playmakers they have on both sides of the ball. Still, Penn State looked good today.

If you saw the USC INT and return of the INT late in the game, after the INT PSU's #12, was blocked in the back trying to get back in the play. The Linesman was no more than 5 yards away right behind the illegal block, did nothing. Linesman had to be blind not to see it, result was #12 ending up 3 yards forward on his hands and knees. This isn't stating USC wouldn't have won, only more difficult with amount of time left.
