and they look like a legit team to me. i was especially surprised at their defense. fast, hard hitting, and reads the offense well. they seem to be really frustrating texas. im not sure how they would match up with the sec, but they would have a fighters chance. the texas d is keeping them in it as of now, but tcu is about to blow it open if they score...currently 20-3 after texas turned it over and gave tcu a very short field.

some strange calls going their way in the second half - makes me think they are being protected a bit by the conference.

If sec officials look after us like big 12 officials are looking over tcu, Saturday will be stress free

swoopes would be a 2nd string safety @ state.....the entire UT OL would be on the practice squad.... I don't care how many stars they have. Strong is a **** HC.

That defense gave up 61 points in a game this year. Texas' offense is ****.

TCU - MSU would be a hell of a game. If I was on the committee, I'm pulling for Florida.

Ole chuck strong is in his first year. he's kicked off 6-7 of their best players who consequently had the biggest attitude problems. Locker room cancers with entitlement complexes. aTm has licked them in recruiting, but it's circular and UT will be back if Charlie has some time. He'll get them back to playing disciplined football with pick of the litter Texas athletes which is usually a pretty good combo.

Yeah i gotta disagree. Tx was crap. Their defense is a B- at best. I think tcu loses 3-4 times in the sec west. Was not impressed.

MSU would take it to TCU IMO.

TCU is light on the defensive line and at LB. Our inside running game would eat them alive.

TCU's offense has smaller running backs that would struggle to grind out yards against us and Boykin has a wind up throwing motion that has the chance telegraph some passes.

I haven't watched TCU all year, but after watching them tonght, I don't think they could physically hold up with MSU.

If both MSU and TCU played average games, I think MSU win 45-28.

i think yall are really selling tcu short, particularly on offense. their defense wasnt great, but they were better than i was expecting. texas really couldnt get out of their own way, but tcu's d had a lot to do with that. their d coordinator read their draw play like a book and dropped texas for a 10 yard loss on 2nd down to make it 3rd and a mile and did similar in key parts of that game. sure, it gives up points over the season, but they also score a ton of points so they dont have to be great most games. anywho, i was fairly impressed with tcu, as it was my second game to see them play (first was oklahoma) and they thoroughly dominated both those games. as far as im concerned they are certainly more of a threat for taking our spot than ohio state despite the lack of a big 12 championship game. yall clearly werent impressed, but i think tcu would give us some trouble...not to say they would win, but i was fairly impressed. as far as florida state goes, i think they need to win one out of the next two to make it to the playoffs. i think they would get a pass as a 1 loss team simply because they are the defending national champions and although that part of their resume has nothing to do with this season, when comparing 1 loss teams, i think it is a factor. go gator and go yella' jackets.

FSU would drop completely out if the picture with one poss. They're already third with being undefeated. One loss would drop them to the end of the one loss teams and maybe behind one or two teams with two losses.

perhaps. ranking them 3rd implies they dont have much faith in them, but people rationalize the irrational all the time and they are the most recent national champion and the last time they lost was 28 games ago. with a fsu loss, i dont think they should be there, but it doesnt mean it wont be rationalized. hell, "they" are pumping up a team that lost to virginia tech at home by 2 td's and some media have a 2 loss ucla team in their final 4. there are a lot of agendas being pushed right now and most of them are anti msu. in a blind resume, we are golden, but it has a popularity contest feel to it. all i have to say is thank goodness jeff long is chairman.

also, if fsu lost to florida and beat ga tech in the acc championship, they would be conf champions essentially putting them in the same territory as ohio state (assuming they win out), oregon (assuming they win out), and bama (assuming they win out). how do you differentiate between the one loss teams in fsu, osu, oregon, baylor, state, tcu, and alabama? some say strength of wins, some say weakness of loss, some say sos, and more recently, there is a conference champion push. if records are equal with top teams having 1 loss (or in some cases better, as they have an extra W in their column for having won the conference championship game), all it takes is for the committee to say, "we considered everything, but in the end, we decided that if you did not win your conference in a true conference tournament, you didnt deserve to play for the national title"...and that would be all she wrote. they dont have to explain any further and america gets what it wants despite us being one of the best 4 teams in the country. outside of the south, nobody would really give a **** if state got left out in favor of a bama, ohio state, florida state, and oregon final 4. networks would be salivating for that outcome and it would be convenient for the committee to say the 4 1-loss conference champions get to play for the title, pat us, tcu, and baylor on the head, and send us to our very nice consolation bowls. obviously, that assumes a lot and i expect at least one of those team to suffer a loss in their conference title game, but we, at this point, look to be entirely dependent on other teams losing for us to get in. maybe im wrong....that is a distinct possibility, but thats how i see it regardless of what the committee has said they will and will not consider, as that seems to fluctuate wildly from week to week.

You are correct. The committe has been begging for an excuse to drop them out. They have not respected FSU one bit as they shouldn't. If FSU loses on game they are dropped to #10 lickity split.

If Strong is allowed to recruit and coach his way, Texas will be back. However, Texas boosters make Ole Miss boosters look like Mississippi State boosters. THEY want players with STARS, the more stars the better. They don't care if they fit into what the Head coach wants to do, or into any particular scheme....they want to win the National Recruiting Championship every year...and if you don't recruit one of THEIR "boys", there's major blowback. Mack Brown didn't mind schmoozing with these guys, but I think they could drive Charlie Strong crazy.
