Wayne vs Scotus

Not suprising, mild upset. Scotus is young, a lot of sophomores and juniors play, plus starting a new QB. They'll get better as the season goes on, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to challenge BC/NG for the district title.
It's mostly because they played Wayne. A traditional under .500 team that usually doesn't beat teams like Scotus/Pierce etc.
I'm happy for Wayne High, it's their biggest football win in quite some time. I can't remember the last time they beat a ranked opponent.
Wayne feasted on big plays last night. Two 70+ yard TD runs, a 70+ yard TD pass and an 80+ yard punt return TD. Scotus defense just gave up too many big plays
I doubt they beat BC/NG. they are a very talented team with some very good weapons. they have a rather big sized lad at running back who really knows how to pound the rock and they have some kids with good size as usual for that squad, they will be a very good team in the northeast Nebraska sector of the state.
I believe that Wayne win will become less meaningful as the season goes. Scotus is extremely young, and not nearly as talented as it has been the past few years. Scotus will make its way back in the coming years, but not this year. Scotus will struggle to crack the .500 mark. Their schedule is just too nasty.
