ever hired, so why does anyone think Lebby’s replacement would be any different? I think we’re stuck with Lebby for another season. Meanwhile we pour ourfinite resources into the black hole of college baseball.
Black hole of college baseball? Went out and literally got the best one of the best coaches from his 22 years at a school. Resume is unprecedented. So back to your bitching … can our AD not do that with a football coach??? Might need to learn from this **** show, but can he not? Is history already written? He’s on the hook too. You Goat and Dawgg or all on the same bus. Coach Coordinators, and someone has to hold your piss buckets. Lol you cats are a rare breed. You knew what comes with being MSU die-hards.

We aren’t cheaping out. We are paying market rate for coaches that will even return our call
Bullshlt. We are paying market rate for the mainstream. Lots of G5/FCS guys out there.

But we are definitely stuck another year with the reincarnated Croom/Moorhead. Assuming no LB/QB fight.

Former Florida AD said it best. What must be done eventually must be done immediately. Does anyone really think Lebby is the long-term answer as our football coach ? We should fire him now. But we won’t.
I've noticed that around half of the posters (here and ED) who still support Lebby will acknowledge that he'll probably be fired next year, but they still think giving a new coach 3 years is the right thing to do, so we should do it.

$15 million is a lot of money when you are just trying to make sure you hit the $21 mill rev share. If you spend it you better know someone is gonna be a lot better and in hiring CFB coaches that’s almost impossible to know.

As much as I’m not a big fan of analytics. You can’t ignore them. Lebby has a knack for doing the exact opposite of what analytics dictate. And it fails every time.
Nobody goes for it on fourth and four from your own 18 yard line , down 11 with 11-12 minutes left in the game. Not HS, College or jr high. Not even flag.

it’s like he wants to be a river boat gambler, but he’s too slow

Who was the HS school coach from Arkansas who never punted. Worked great when his teams just out talented their opponents. He got a I-AA college job and went 2-9 (0-8). Coaches punt in 4th down for a reason.

8 you can’t say anything, this guy knows better … Fire Zac, hire Goat …. Everything will play out perfectly. Our worries and issues will be a thing of the past. It gets to beyond trying to argue. He just knows it all. Probably has 15k posts in the last 6 months, but hey … let’s all go to GenesPage

That makes no sense whatsoever.

So real question since Neck Beard is facing being fired … does he reach out to Father-in-law? Or brother-in-law? Both Briles as OC? Got a lot more holes to fill, but both of those guys know/knew how to put up points. We can work on the lines, but would that make a splash? Just curious?

Chadwell wouldn’t even answer the phone when we called and liberty is 4-6 this year. Mullen is the only one that can save us at this point. Offer him 9m and let’s get it over with.

We pay about $2MM per less than the nearest coach in this league and only Vandy pays less, and that's about to change. We are most definitely going cheap.

Agree … but not 9. You wanna pull him back … 12-14 million. Gotta make it can’t turn down money. But, you can’t offer him that right? And as CRAZY as it sounds, if State did offer that money, would he be on that short list? Better be!

They need to open the pocket book up (at least 9 million) and try to entice a top G5 coach, because that’s only way you’ll even get an interview. But they won’t - we’ve got non-revenue sport we need to dump millions in.
They’ll cheap out, hire some young G5 coach with a couple bowl appearances and we will have to pray it works out.

Never heard a mf’er turn down money.
I have but only once and it was a whole different issue. When my late grandfather ran for sheriff and was going to win easily but decided to pull out of the race because of several reasons. He was just a totally different kind of person the kind my dad who passed when I was 8 and the kind I try to be as well. He didn’t need the money but it wouldn’t have mattered he was that true to himself. So don’t think it’s impossible. In the football world it’s definitely different and all 17ed up.

Don’t hire young coach. Hire a 55+ coach that’s at end of his career and is good solid coach. That’s what we need. We need stability right now. We need a solid coach that can get us 7-8 wins a year for 2-3 years and a playoff within 5 years. We don’t need a coach that’s looking at us as stepping stone job. We need dedicated coach that believes in this university and can get us over the hump. I don’t care if he’s FCS, Division 2 or freaking high school. Just get us a solid coach and get us out of this complete dumpster fire we’re in right now.

I would take a stepping stone coach over most of the ones we’ve hired recently. For someone to leave us for a better job they have to do a good job here first. No one is beating down the door to hire Mr. 1-14.

Granted man .. what G5 we offering 9 million? And why?? Bump that up high, and go grab someone we have no reason to get to MSU. Just for ***** and Gigs .. offer 13 million to Urban, offer the same to Franklin. Or go above and beyond. What coach in this fire-a-coach do we want to pursue?

Curt Cignetti says hello. We need stability and we need someone who is willing to give us that and not jump ship at first offer . Someone who is a good solid coach. We need to accept where we are right now as a football program. Cause it ain’t good. 55 is not too old for a football coach.

I legitimately think Leach passing away created some kind of subconscious fear that we had to hire a younger coach because an older one might have some kind of medical issues that cut his tenure short…. Which is a really rare thing, we just unfortunately had to face one of the few instances of it with Leach.
