and players, but if we show support and keep from labeling him horrible, hopefully the players and recruits will give him the benefit of the doubt and at least give him a chance.

We need Hood and the current signees to stay on board. He's our coach, so he's got my support.

could pay off. That conference plays nice, team-oriented basketball. And a recommendation from a former player:

"He's a really good offensive mind," Purdue star Robbie Hummel said of
Ray. "He's extremely intelligent and will be able to recruit."

Plus he has a first-rate name. Our program is in shambles. Let's give him time--4 years.

It appears to be true ... I googled his name (never heard of him) and several citations, even CBS sports, say he's our new coach. He seems to have a lot on the ball after reading his resume. He was with Purdue for several good years, and is supposedly a great recruiter. Not only that, he must be pretty intelligent ... has a degree in applied mathematics and a masters in sports administration.<div>

Is the thing that is keeping me from completely hating the hire. The Gene Keady coaching tree is pretty strong.

if you don't think that OM fans will be here in short order bashing this hire in similar fashion to the way that we made fun of Freeze, then you are a complete idiot. My point was relevant. Some of the people here will insist that we defend the hire which is similar to what some OM fans did with Freeze. This wasn't a slam dunk, signature hire and neither was Freeze. I can take the ridicule just as much as I was willing to dole it out earlier in the year.

2. I stated "in short order". I assumed you knew what that meant. My fault. It isn't surprising that you haven't seen a rebel comment yet when I clearly stated "in short order." I guess we agree.

3. If you are confused by 1 or 2, I won't be surprised.
