Folks, it looks like MSU has finally found its way out of the wilderness we’ve been wandering through for the past three years. It has been hard. It has felt hopeless. It frankly felt like we were a forgotten SEC member. We weren't even in conversations. No mentions by national writers or even SEC Network folks at times.
But turn on your radio. Turn on your tv. Scroll twitter. We're talked about. And let me tell you, few things in MSU fandom are more satisfying than receiving wave after wave of positive press and then watching sad Rebs in various comment sections scramble to spin it into something else.
There is momentum in football. There is momentum in basketball. There is unbelievable momentum in baseball. In fact, I'd say that there is one athletic program on the rise in the state of Mississippi.
For possibly the first time in our history we seem to have an administration that understands PR. People are saying positive things about Starkville.
We are getting looks from big time recruits who wouldn't have previously considered us. I was told last summer by someone who would know that Bralan Womack liked MSU but just didn't want to go somewhere he'd lose all the time.
And boy, what a huge thank you we owe to Auburn University for taking John Cohen off of our hands. His tenure looks worse every single day.
Good night, good luck, and Hail State.
