any team will instantly look really good if they bring in great players. Basketball teams can change really quickly with a few big time players.

you have a bunch of young players that are not standing around and watching...they know the plan and are working hard on the defensive end as well

Thats why I said good coaching AND good players

Kentucky and John Calipari, then you are setting yourself up for alot of disappoinment. Of course they have passed us by in talent, they signed one of the best recruiting classes of all time last year. I have the utmost respect for Stans and his recruiting ability, but Kentucky with John Calipari is going to be a helluva lot different then Kentucky with Billy G and Jack D. I have lived in Memphis for the past 5 years and have heard Calipari spread his ******** all over this town. His act get's really old, and he is the ultimate ego-driven jackass, but as much as I hate to say it he is going to turn UK into a damn machine.

1. Not working on zone offense before the first game- (thats simply not doing your job)

2. "It seems like our offense is kind of stagnant; we're just standing around. I just try to, when the shot clock gets low, go make plays."- Dee Bost

Standing around on offense for 12 years is long enough</p>

We are killing St. Bonnie and our zone offense is kicking tail in first half. amazing how coaches look better when teams shoot well.

we are just standing around and shooting 3's- St Bonnie is 17'ing awful- just letting us do it...

We have 31 shots in the first half- 15 are from 3....yeah, we are really breaking them down with our offense

moron

I guess if we had played ****** you would be elated. Our team is playing better and starting to jell. Give us some credit for once, is it possible?

..it's amazing people actually come to this board & asks your advice & opinion. I feel sorry for those people. Because it's like asking Bernie Madoff to give them financial advise.

You are the biggest no-nothing jackass in the history of Internet messageboards.

Edit to add: Nobody has ever claimed MSU is on the level of Kentucky. It's just another one of your ******** strawman arguments.

Now I know you are completely delusional. Does it make up for the shittastic games we have had this season? No. But good God dude....say something a little smarter than that. It takes away any credibility you have. It compares to the football team scoring 50 on someone throwing the ball and criticizing them by saying, "I wish we had run the ball better."

Go away and come back when Stan chokes his next one.

But I would suggest some professional help. Today is today and to criticize today's preformance is a snapshot of being very sick. We are playing better now let's hope Jarvis is okay.

it doesnt make you a great offense because they suck so damn bad.

We shot the same shots we have been shooting all season- we just made them today. We still stand around too much and when we play another team closer to our talent level, we'll see the same results from earlier this season

if that is the case then stop calling for a change in the position because as you said....that is Ninja's job to do. You can't have it both ways.

just because I dont want to take the time to compile a list of possible candidates for our job doesnt mean I cant call for a change. You sound just like the dumbasses around here getting mad at me for calling for Crooms to be replaced even after the Liberty Bowl- just because we won in spite of Crooms- didnt mean our program was where it should be. I didnt compile a list for Crooms either. But I did say that we could hire a more than competent replacement with what we pay and the conference we play in- and it goes the same for basketball

you are tunnel-visioned and can only see right now.

I look at it and see the problems coming down the road. Its great we won and beat a ****** team- but are we correcting the problems that we have in our team? Did we move and cut more on offense or did we just launch 3's?

I'm pretty sure it's also his job to decide when to fire a coach, and you don't mind sharing your opinion on what decision he should make there.

I should have known better than to question the coach. Now, with zero sarcasm, I tell you it is a matter of opinion on this message board as to who sounds like a dumbass. IF I do fall in that category you might should take a look at yourself since on most issues we have very similar opinions.

I'm not arguing or try to stir anything up but honestly (no sarcasm) who do you think are some coaching prospects that could come to State and make us even better? who could we get down in Starkville? just want your opinion

Their only two losses coming in were to undefeated teams, by a total of 4 points. They are by no means Top 25 caliber, and probably won't make the dance. But beating them by 53 is impressive. They're decent. We did exactly what we should have done and then some.

Really? Boy, I'm glad we have you here to tell us these things. I mean, who else would have figured that out.

I realize you live to come on here and stir things up and I also know I should just ignore you, but it's posts like these that just drive me nuts. Yes, Calipari > Stans. You know what else? Williams > Stans. Coach K > Stans. Boheim > Stans. Izzo > Stans. I guess we should fire Stansbury since he is not the best coach in the nation. I mean, we at MSU basketball should expect to have the top coach in the nation. Yes, Calipari is a better coach than Stans. Yes, UK has "passed" us. They are Kentucky, only the best program in SEC basketball history. They hired the best recruiter in the nation and he will have a free pass to do whatever he wants at UK and the NCAA will not do a thing. He's come close to winning a national title. It was a great hire for them. Saying we should be as good as or better than Kentucky is just ridiculous.

This numb nuts can't even bring himself to compliment the team and coaching staff for beating a Division I team by FIFTY-TWO points. That just shows that he his either incapable of having an unbiased opinion on the subject, or is just posting this crap to get people riled up. Either way, it's a no-win battle to argue with him.

It is clear you are nothing but an attention ***** Coach, but you just took asshattery to a new level trying to ***** about the way we scored over a 100 points and won by 53. We got all those threes from good passing and spacing. You see....I actually SAW the 17ing game unlike you. We had 25 assists and only 11 turnovers. Coming into the game St. Bonaventure was either first or second in the nation in FG% and had only 2 close losses to good teams. We absolutely kicked their *** and you look like a complete dubmass trying to detract from it.

Stormrider up here hit it on the head....Stans is a mediocre coach at best. He is a great recruiter to be able to get the players he does, but a terrible X's and O's coach. I am good friends with a former player on the team and he told me once that Coach Kirby is the brains behind the basketball team but Stans won't listen to him. Stans insists on running whatever the hell kind of scheme he runs (which consists of Bost dribbling around and making a play on his own) without much help from his assistants.

And don't worry about Kentucky. Yes, they are better than us and will be for about 6 more years but I guarantee at best Kentucky makes it to the elite 8 this year. Calipari isn't exactly an X's and O's genious. A lot of his offenses at Memfrica consisted of Rose, Evans, CDR, and Dejuan Wagner playing Iso at the top of the key while the other 4 guys get the hell out of the way. He recruits a lot of streetball thugs who will only stay in school for about 2 years.

If you can't tell I hate Calipari. He will get some heat for cheating in about 5 years and then jump ship to another school. It's what he does.
