Nothing personal with DW but I do hope there is someone else we have redshirted who can lead us next season. I believe Dak is on an NFL roster next year. Damien did great vs Ark last season but he just does not seem consistently capable. Even if he is our guy next year who else do we have? It would be great if Dak could get some rest over the next two weeks as well.

I think you could say this about every team across the country. I know Bo Wallace doesn't exactly have hype today, but if he gets hurt Ole Miss may not win another SEC game.
I think we might see USM/UAB esque substitutions over the next 2 weeks. Less so with Arkansas and especially on defense, but if we get up by 2 TDs, put Williams in. Arkansas isn't a quick strike team unless your run defense sucks (ours doesn't).
God forbid something happen to Dak, we better be ready to burn a red shirt if needed to play our best possible quarterback, whoever that may be. This is a VERY special year for Mississippi State. We better give ourselves every possible chance to win the rest of our games. Red shirts be damned.
If it comes down to that we will have to burn a redshirt anyway. You don't play a game without at least 2 deep at QB.

nearly as good without their starting QB. Very few have a backup QB good enough to keep their team at that same high level in that particular season.
Even if a team has two or three good QB's in a row over a few years, most of those 2nd and 3rd QB's in the subsequent years weren't really ready when they were young. Just like Dak Prescott two years ago. Similarly, Damian Williams may not be ready to lead our team right now, but next year or in two years he might be.
