We've all screamed at Lebby, but, he's done a helluva job turning this thing around. I said preseaon we would win 6 or 7. The general consensus was if so he should be Coach of the year. Where are y'all at now? Moving the goalposts after you see how close we were to the playoffs?

Good job Leb, don't let a few of our fans run you off.

We could also easily be 3-6.

This was an important win, and 5-4 is a good record for this team at this point. I see no reason to distract from that by acting like we've ever been a playoff quality team.
Nope we couldn't be easily 3 6 vs 8 1. Goalposts.

If you are going to say we could have lost to Ark and ASU then you have to offset that with FL and Texas and Tenn. The fact is we have 5 wins headed for 6 or 7 with a bowl. Its an excellent turnaround.

I mean… by that logic, we could easily be 3-6.

Look, I’m glad we won today, but beating a hapless 2-6 team with a temporary coaching staff doesn’t exactly change my opinion of Lebby or give me confidence in the trajectory of the program.

They aren't hapless. They have had several one score losses. Much more parity now than ever.

ASU doesn’t bust coverage on Thompson, we lose.
Arkansas defender doesn’t miss a tackle on Evans, we lose.

Just as easy (maybe easier) to woulda/coulda/shoulda those games as it is our close losses.
Texas doesn't return a punt, we win. FL doesn't pick a pass with a d end, we win. If you are gonna count the if losses, offset it with the if wins. The point is the consensus was 6 wins Lebby is coach of the year. Why the change of heart?

Go back to everybody's preseason predictions. Most, including me said 5-7 would be a solid step forward. I said 6-6 should get him 5 years and we should be ecstatic. Anything better than that, he should run for Governor.

lol Georgia not Ole Miss are guaranteed. Georgia is unlikely and with OM who knows. He’s making it sound like our next two wins are automatic. Then again we could possibly beat Georgia although highly improbable.

We also play Missouri which is winnable and Ole miss is always a game where you never know. I see what he's saying. Georgia just played Florida close. We could win all three. I don't see it but I get where he's coming from.
We have to get Reece back and play clean football. There is a chance to beat any of those three

You’re making his point for him. If you are going to say we could easily be 8-1 then you can say we could easily be 3-6. If we could have easily won the games we lost then we could have easily lost the games we won. And if a frog had wings…

Lebby bought himself another year, yesterday.

I honestly don't think he would have survived losing out. But he won yesterday and will be back despite how we finish. I hope he gets one more win. I think he can get one more win.

But winning five this year combined with the other good performances plus his relationship with returning players. He needs to come back to establish some continuity within the program.
Hopefully this year is Lebbys 2009.

The fact is we have been in every game but one this year which is good. I would say that's improvement but you are truly measured by your wins. Lebby needed to get a sec win in my opinion with the signs of improvement to get year three for sure. He did that. It was good to finally learn lessons and put one together. We could have easily wit when we got down two tds but we didn't. We actually do better in 4th qtr without the lesd it feels like. Now Lebby just needs to learn how to win with the lead in a close game. He's learning on the job. I liked what I saw from Taylor. If he stays and develops they can have some nice things but now that we have shown life as a program also search to see what you get in the portal in case kt gets snatched or created a competition for next season. Maybe we can steal one of these last theee. We have shown we can play with anyone it's just coaches and players executing. We got uga and ole miss at home. At home we can win those games if we execute near perfectly. As far as Mizzou on the road we can beat them to if we play well.

I will agree we definitely need Albert Reese back. Our offense really depends on its right tackle.

First of all, there is nothing easy about it. These things always even out. For every Florida game, there is an Arizona State game. For every Texas game, there is an Arkansas game. Parcells was right.

Our schedule isn’t nearly as hard as was expected at the beginning of the year.

I’m on board with lebby, but if we get to 6-6, it won’t be nearly as impressive as we would have expected. That said, last years team with last years coaching is 3-6 right now with some more blowouts, so I’m still happy with the progress even if some of the games have been frustrating.

If only we could make 3 moral victories equal one real victory, we’d have that magical 6th win that you are guaranteeing.

If you go back and look at some of the trainwrecks during last season and compare it to this year there’s no question there’s been significant improvement. There’s still the growing pains of being a new head coach that he’s got to figure out (we saw that with Mullen too). I think he got rid of a lot of me first type players on last years roster and has replaced them with a cohesive unit.

I went into the season thinking they would win 2 or 3 games(my prognostication was 2-10) so they have blown past that total.

If that's correct then we should beat Georgia. They got away from some. We've given up some. Let's even it out for both teams.

Go look at Arkansas’s record. Their only bad loss is to Notre Dame. You could say they should only have one loss. Do they look like a one loss team? Of course not. The could have should have game is just what it is….a silly mind game that doesn’t change anything.

Are you telling me you don’t feel confident in a coaching staff that has had us in every single ball game except 1?

Mind you all 4 of the losses are to teams with much more talent than we have from top to bottom. Our starters are mostly less talented but the gap is pretty narrow but depth kills us late in games.

We are 5-4 and that’s pretty GD good considering the talent and schedule.

I think quite a few of us who weren't sure Lebby had any 17ing idea how to be a HC at this level after last season, have been very pleasantly surprised. I know I have.

Growing pains of a new HC will continue to rear their head, but I have a lot more hope he could work out long term than I did previously.

That hapless team blew games they had won against Ole Miss and Memphis on the road. Took Tennessee and A&M down to the final drive and lost by 3. They weren’t some 2024 Mississippi State type team. They also have a top 5 offense

Before the season started 90% of us were saying if we win 4-5 games and are competitive in losses then we’re happy. He’s doing that and we were within 3 plays from being 8-1 then hasn’t he met expectations. The frustration is like some have already said “woulda shoulda” because we have beaten ourselves in most of those but I think he’s still learning on the job. We return alot of good talent on both sides of the ball and he’s proven he knows how to work the portal to get good pieces and depth. I’m optimistic about the future. Think we can get over the hump in some of these close games next year and push for 7 or 8 wins
