is one that might at least have the potential of hitting 12 to 15 HRs for us in a season. Here we are again 37 games into the season and our ENTIRE team has combined for 15 HRs. By comparison Florida has hit 48 HRs as a team so far.

especially in our park. With the bats and the fact that pitching is better than it was in say the 80s, you just aren't going to see many of those guys.

7 teams in the conference have hit fewer than 20 HRs. And in conference play, we are actually tied for 6th with 8 ahead of LSU and Arkansas.

Only 2 players have double-digit HRs this year so far. And one of those is zack kirksey who did all his damage midweek and against non conference opponents. He is currently hitting .167 in SEC play.

I think we would be well served to bring our fences in slightly. Believe it would help us as a team and would bring more excitement to the games. Gorilla ball is bad but when you almost totally negate the long ball that's JUST as bad. I personally think that the college bats have been deadened so much that its gone too far in the other direction.

that's a very good idea.

And as the stats I just posted illustrate, it doesn't seem to really matter how big your park is...at least this year.

Don't get me wrong, we need some gap power. Having to piece together 2 singles, and 2 ground outs to plate a run isn't going to get you very far.

maybe we could take the field out 10 feet or so. That would create a better angle for seats down the sideline. It would also allow for expanding the concourse.

Shift the infield toward CF about 15 feet and add 5-6 rows of chairbacks so that the new front row is at field level.
