Some of us have daughters. Some of us have daughters who play freaking soccer. Some of us have daughters who play freaking soccer and who want to play at Mississippi freaking State, if we can keep our shitt together.

And some of us want our alma mater to be good and win at every thing we do. Winning begets winning. If any program or club or society on campus wins anything, it's good for everybody. The FMB wins the band Heisman?? I'm not necessarily a band guy, but LFG!

I want the entire university and Starkville to have a championship mindset. I for one want us to win the national championship in football, but if we can't do that, at least win at baseball, tennis, robotics, intramural ultimate frisbee, barbecue cookoffs, flag football, academics, spelling bee, debate, band, and tiddlywinks. And yes, that includes womens' soccer. Win at everything in life. At least, that's how I want my alma mater to think and act.

Just a bump to agree with Darryl and irritate cooterpoot. State soccer has been fun to watch for years now with the last two staffs. And maybe my daughter will play there maybe not. But we have had success and as Darryl stated we should want it and expect it. Hoping the new staff can keep to our recent standard and honestly exceed it. Oh and beat the crap out of Florida next year if they are on our schedule.

Soccer dead period is today through early Jan. Several schools are announcing their winter transfer portal signings right now (including Auburn today). Building a usable roster for the spring is getting tough. Wonder when the spring semester starts.

It’s getting comical. Kyra Taylor gone to Florida too. She was pretty frustrating to watch, but that’s still a hole to fill.

She was rehabbing her knee, was supposed to report in January. We will see.

That's maybe even more concerning than all the players transferring to Florida. Absolutely nothing on incoming transfers. And you've got to figure most of the recruiting class is leaving as soon as their first portal opens.

Frustrating? How about she sucked at the role they attempted to have her fill.

I met her family at the Baylor game and they were all very nice, so I suppose I struggle to come down too hard on her. What can I say? I’m getting soft in my old age.

That said, I never felt like her and Main were on the same page this season and both passed when they should have shot and shot when they should have passed. I felt like Taylor especially missed a lot of wide open looks. I think we can upgrade at her position, but that’s another season-long starter (and 4th on the team in goals) gone.

I’m frustrated with that too. Unless Zimmerman took the entire social media team with him, it’s a little worrying. All the @hailstatesoc instagram posting has been players we’ve lost to graduation and the virtues of O’Brien’s time at Lipscomb. I don’t know if that means we haven’t signed any transfers or if that means we’re just not publicizing them. Neither makes me feel great.

Another one to UF. I’m ok with this one. She was an absolute liability on the back line, but I think it was her first year playing Defender.

What about Schoefberger? She’s a senior, but I didn’t know if she has any eligibility left. There’s no mention of her graduating like Perry & Wagner. I haven’t seen anything posted.

Flarda had the players this year to beat all of those transfers. Someone wasnt paying attention, or was that part of his interview...."hey, tank this game to us"

This is what we call a sport that doesn't matter other than meeting the requirements for SEC membership. Over 99% of this board has never been to or watched women's soccer. It's barely a blip on the college athletics radar. Big Beta energy guys carry on!
