It has been a LONG time since we had that many:

Stratton, Routt, Reed, Daryl Norris, and CT are going there.

Also, Wes Rea is going to Illinois to play summer baseball. I think that is a very positive sign.

I, admittedly, know very little about summer leagues. Do players get actual coaching in these leagues? Or is it just a way for them to stay in shape and keep their skills sharp?

I ask because the players you listed are mostly pitchers, and I didn't know if they had coaches in the Summer that might try to change mechanics and/or add pitches to their repertoire that their college coaches may not approve of...

I really don't know the answer, and I suppose I don't have an opinion... I'm just curious.

..I heard Cohen say in an interview that when he arrived @ MSU, he was disappointed only a few of the MSU players were signing up to play in summer leagues.

Cohen said he wanted all his non-seniors to play summer ball somewhere.

That's just another big difference between Cohen & Polk.

i pulled up this league and was just looking around

I didn't see Routt or Reed listed on any of these rosters. Are there more than one in the Cape?

Evan Mitchell along with Brayden Jones are on the same team(Danville Dans) as Rea. Cody Abraham is playing for the Victoria Generals in the Texas league.

But it's also a way for them to keep their skills sharp. The thing about the Cape Cod League is that it is the most prestigious wood bat league in America. So, all of the top players are there, which means tons of scouts are there.

I wouldn't worry about them changing mechanics or anything like that too much- they may change something very minor, but they're not going to try to re-invent the wheel with anyone. It's probably good because it will give these players another eye to watch and see them and make suggestions that the players can carry over into next year.

Plus, the coaches are very reputable.

the rosters are probably not final on the website. Routt and Reed will both be there. There will also be players that will cancel before the season starts as well.

I think that him going to the Cape Cod League and hopefully doing well might be exactly what he needs.

The two batters Norris walked on Sunday when he came in were just absolute crucial.... Stands out to me as the 2nd most vital part of the weekend after Vickerson's walk off
