That doesn’t change the fact that we spend way too much on a sport that very few people even know about. Even fewer care. We got way more recognition from beating UConn in women’s basketball than we did for winning a baseball natty.
It’s a sport WE care about. And the rest of the SEC cares about. And thats really all that matters.

The rest of the SEC doesn’t care that much about it, not really. It has its fans, but not enough of them to make it pay. It’s basically something for a small % of a very few fan bases to do in the spring. That’s the truth about college baseball. Baseball beyond youth level is a pro based sport, always has been, always will be.

Literally every SEC school has either won the National Championship or has been in Championship game in the last 30 years other than Auburn.

Ok. All of them have football stadiums that absolutely dwarf their baseball stadiums. What does that tell you?
I always find it interesting that you and a few others will ignore stupidity just to argue a ridiculous point.

There is a difference between trolling and just posting dumb **** and the line isn’t thin at all.

And nobody outside of MSU circles has even noticed.
You speaking of spending way too much money on baseball is pretty rich when you consider your boy Lebby and his program. I bet people "outside of MSU circles" have noticed the shi-tty football product we've put on the field the last two seasons don't you? You can start talking about waste with $8 million wasted on Lebbys salary winning 1 conference game in 2 seasons. How about OL coaching, DC coaching, you happy with that? You can add multiple millions of NIL money wasted. You can add $3 million on disco lights that haven't been seen in the dark since the Alcorn game in September. We'll keep an eye on basketball and see what they waste on coaching, NIL, etc but so far it doesn't look promising

Oh joy, a minor college sport very few even know exists. Hopefully the Braves are better.
⬆ If not enough people watch, did it even happen? I can only invest in things that are widely seen as popular! I define myself by the perception of others.

So because other schools can't put 10,172 baseball fans on campus for a game in November we shouldn't? If MSU basketball is so popular where are the fans because even in a season where we fired the old baseball coach, baseball outdrew basketball. There's constant bitchin on here about attendance.Should all those baseball fans stay home just because the basketball fans do?

Money makes the world go around. We are a blue blood baseball program, and we lose money on it. That tells you all you should need to know.

You would be very surprised how the job Lebby has done this year is perceived outside poor old whooped down MSU circles. Once again though, Lebby is not “my boy”. I’m still very much on the fence there. He has done enough this year not to get fired. That’s the extent of it. Next year will tell the tale. Y'all are so negative that you are perceiving somebody slightly less negative as positive. That says a lot more about yall than it does me. I’m just being realistic.

LOL, you must be at least as insecure as me then! You still haven’t figured out that I view you as entertainment, in the current threads, have you? I really get a kick out of people who call me dumb… I really do. I’ll keep replying as long as you want!

You want to link some articles, maybe some interviews online or YouTube, etc? SOMEBODY, anybody, saying we've gotten $8 million worth of progress in the past 2 seasons? That's just Lebbys salary, not to mention the others I brought up

LOL, linking articles…so you want me to back up MY thoughts., I don’t function that way. My thoughts are my own…I realize that makes me more than a bit unusual. Most of you aren’t capable of independent thought. I feel sorry for you .

The way this basketball team is playing and the way this baseball team is projected to be, the fans @ Dudy Noble will outnumber the fans in The Hump most if not every game. They did last year even, so which one around here is the minor sport?
One has a capacity of 9500 and the other close to 13k. Incredible observation.

But according to L4 baseball is a minor sport that nobody cares about? "Incredible" that there won't be 9500 in there once this year unless it's to watch the opponent, but we just had 10,172 watch a baseball game on a chilly Friday night, that's what's "incredible"

You can't find anything that supports the dribble that leaks out of your mouth because it's not there, nobody shares your thoughts. And yes, you are "more than a bit unusual", on that we can agree 100%

This thread tells me that you will go to the depths of stupidity to argue a meaningless point. Here’s a fact. Fans don’t care about profit and loss when it comes to college sports because at the end of the day - its not their money.

The pride in supporting good ole State U comes from winning (which is obvious to most). It’s why most of the 11K fans that showed up in Nashville for a volleyball game on the first weekend of football season were from Nebraska. I know you probably don’t understand that either but it’s not your ******* money so let it go.

Another fact. Despite your desire to draw attention to yourself, the lights will go on in Dudy Noble this spring, games will be won, and MSU fans will be happy. Try and be happy with them.

Oh really? Why do you think rival fans like Lebby so much? Why do you think rival fans hated Saban so much?

Who is talking about rival fans? Once again, I am on the fence about Lebby. Next year will tell the tale with me. If we had not improved over last year, this year would have. We aren't a blue blood in football. We can not play the short game. Most blue bloods don't play that game either.

But where are the fans, where's the popularity? How do you justify spending millions to remodel The Hump? If it's not popular why not spend that money on football? Huh?
It's about the money. Men's basketball pays its way.
