but the past few minutes have been fun to watch. After the last timeout, Ray really got this team playing with extreme hustle. Makes me think how good we could be if we get the right players.

This is why I don't understand the stance of those like Shmuley

I could understand not liking the hire at first, but working with what he has, he's got these guys playing with some ******* fury.

Exactly...

When we have a full complement of players, it's going to be 40 minutes of hell on defense. Ray may never be Shaka Smart -- but that's exactly who I think of when watching his team play. Constant defensive chaos.

I'd much rather watch us gamble and lose going for steals and on fast breaks than getting beat down the floor for layups and walking back.

This 1-3-1 is giving them hell**

We are constantly rotating through 3 different defenses and it's doing a good job of confusing South Carolina.

I'll enjoy watching these guys miss the tourney this year far more than watching the dumpster fire emplode and not make the tourney last year.

I've been impressed by what I've heard so far about Ray and this team despite the record, but this is the first time I've gotten the chance to actually see us and that defense really is a blast to watch.

And how the hell did Roquez Johnson go from fumbling away balls in garbage time last year to driving through defenders and sinking double-clutch layups now? I mean, I feel like I know the answer, but that's some pretty incredible progress regardless.

I'm wondering the same thing about Roquez, and I shirley don't know the answer. Hopefully it's a sign of solid coaching.

I'd like to think so. Someone's also done a good job with Cunningham. He's not a major contributor or anything, but he's been giving us quality minutes this season thus far when called upon, not turning the ball over and making a few shots, which is a whole lot more than he was capable of last year.

Seeing a whole helluva lot of heart right now.

Sword and Thomas are growing up right in front of us. God forbid either one of them find their jumpshots....

This is the exact type of game that Stans often found a way to lose. Let's see what Ray's got...

I got to see the second half and they are definitely a scrappy, young bunch. You have to give it up to any team that scores half of their points in a win by forcing turnovers. Loved the hustle I saw.

I will do my best to try and remember this the rest of the season.

I still don't understand how these guys lost to Alabama a&m.
